Set to sign Westwood

Leeds are apparently in talks to sign Sheff Wednesday keeper Keiran Westwood on a free transfer. The 34 year old has barely featured for the Owls this season and we are keen.

Sums up how this club has been run over the last decade. He was a cracking keeper in this league, probably the best keeper in this league over the past decade and who we could have signed instead of signing the likes of Rachubka, Weidwald, Lonergan (twice), Stock, Silvestri (at a push) That Carlisle display against us in the L1 playoffs at ER was one of the best keeping displays id seen, he was just a kid then

Too late imo, but what are your thoughts on Westwood singing?

How old was Neil Sullivan when he joined us and how did that go?

Assuming he is fit and hasn't been injury plagued - GREAT SIGNING - go get him!

Westwood is a miles better keeper.

I’d end up first choice

Great keeper and now has a lot of experience - excellent for BPF, I'd say.

All about how good he is with distribution. Overlooked that BPF is very calm and composed with his kicking, has confidence to look for the right option and keep us playing that sort of football. If Westwood can do that, he'll start.

I think if he is signed, which will be a great signing, he will still have to win the spot.

Yeh, it’s the bielsa way isn’t it. Get him up to speed with what is expected in training and promote him if you think he is ready and better than bpf. Only way that changes is if bpf drops a bunch of clangers in the meantime.

He won’t be able to win the spot if BPF performs well
Let’s hope that happens.

or if BPF gets injured.

BPF is improving steadily. He has made some significant saves in the past few games. Of course there are areas for improvement, but when you look at him now compared to the uncertain kid Hecky brought in, they are light years apart.

Westwood is going to be the next pope.
