Could degenerate very quickly...

.....for Emery. There are a host of failings that are being overlooked because many are still on a high from getting rid of the tyrant who wouldn't fack off from the club when it was clear to the world and his dog that his time was long gone and the game had passed him by.

Emery still doesn't know his starting team or how he wishes to play. This matters. We need our core players to build cohesion and understanding and an identity. Part of the reason he found himself earlier in the season needing to make subs in the 2nd half to turn around many games is that fact he made the wrong starting selection in the first place. The constant tinkering is only making us more disjointed.
The second half today was his worst show so far with 2 early, exceedingly dumb substitutions of Ozil and Lacazette. Apart from the tactical implications that only made us more disjointed in attack, he runs the risk of losing his dressing room with the way he treats the likes of Ozil and Ramsey - and obviously, Lacazette has seemed displeased with him a couple of times recently. We do not have the depth of quality to dispense of Ozil and Ramsey. Except at an injury time, desperate hail mary, you should never be taking Ozil off at half-time for Iwobi. He has also succeeded in totally wrecking and alienating Ramsey by freezing him out of the team.

Probably even bigger a failure is the shambles our defense is? Are we really defending any better than last season? I'd say slightly better firepower has helped turn some games we would have lost last season, but we're still conceding tons of "banter" goals. We're an absolute mess in defense. Emery had the reputation of paying more attention to detail and I expected this to manifest more in our defensive organisation, but we're a shambles.

Top 3 is certainly gone. Spurs are just far too consistent and solid for us to keep up with. We have to hope Chelsea are a trainwreck, and the ghost of Mourinho would linger at Man U. Cos we are not looking top 4 quality. Urgent business is needed in January, but there are little indications of anything significant.

Dude calm down, it takes time to overhaul a squad that's paperthin in quality and depth. You should know by now that we don't have the luxury to play our core players every match and risking injuries / draining them mentally. The squad players need to step up their game and I don't even blame them. Elneny, Ramsey, Iwobi are not good enough yet or will never be at a consistent level to rely on.
I'm just disappointed that now that we have 2 top strikers our midfield and defence are falling apart (and we still have the issue with injuries to key players, not so sure it was just wengers old fashioned training methods now)

This has to be one of the worst squad Arsenal has had in a long time... and under the circumstances whatever Emery has achieved has been beyond expectations.

Considering how wel his new signings have done the club needs to put money where it’s mouth is and back him up in transfer window

Yeah, let's measure our progress by gaining an extra point in a fixture with Brighton.

We are losing ground to our top 4 rivals. Taking solace from drawing a game we should be winning against Brighton would be ridiculous.

---

We are joint 4th as it stands which is where we want to be at this stage of Emery's reign the teams above us have established managers with better squads than us. We have got to be realistic with the squad we have at the moment that's the best we are gonna be right now.

Absolutely dreadful performance, not just today, but for the last few. We made a diabolical Burnley team look like a half competent team on Saturday. On this form, we just need to get Anfield out of the way.

Wow, you're criticising Ramsey, whom has arguably been responsible for alot of wins that would have been draws, yet neglected to mention Ozil. A BIG part of why we've dropped the recent points we have.

I suppose you think selling Ramsey whilst keeping the lazy caant who bottles every challenge, is a good idea and all.

And it needs to sell/release/bench from PL games, one Mesut Ozil. I don't actually think the players exist to buy and play the correct combination, with him in the mf and contend for the PL. He is the most pathetic example of defence in attack we have seen in this league (for this many seasons). He is also beyond compensating for. The 9 other outfield players are kept to busy in the PL, to have to compensate for another player, as much as they have to compensate for Ozil.

We CANNOT win the PL with him starting games with any regularity.

Check starting lineup for recent draws and losses. Only one glaringly obvious difference. That strangely enough, nobody seems to want to acknowledge. To the point you all seem to be blaming any and everything but the waste of space the club is pay well over a quarter mil a week to pee points down the drain.

Ozil is ok at home. in away games we actually missed mkhi. which is not saying much. we need reinforcements up front to link auba and laca for sure.

Özil should be having more of an impact, but he is not the reason for the poor performances and results. Even in the unbeaten run, the team wasn’t playing that well, save for 20 minutes against Leicester and the NLD.

My point exactly. Wasn't playing the greatest but was coping, mostly due to every single player on the pitch busting his ass. The second we drop Ozil in, you get the straw that breaks the camels back.

They can't get by in a managers first season, with a weaker squad AND carry Ozil. It is no accident his return to the starting lineup, saw our luck run out. As I said in another post. Playing Ozil (over this period especially) will prove to be Emerys most telling mistake of the season.

With a bit of luck he's seen enough to realise he's never going to get the required for the PL, from Ozil and will sell him and buy someone decent in the window. Or as I said, just keep the lazy bottle job fecker away from PL games.
