Why would we do something similar if they've been doing it 4 years now with no effect

Arsenal and United had the highest total match-day revenues in the last financial year.

Having said this, their respective broadcast revenues were still more than double the value of their match-day revenues.

Clubs like Man City had a ratio of 4:1, while Leicester's broadcast revenues were roughly 10 times their match-day revenues.

I expect the FA to start clamping down on "fan unrest", with the vast majority of clubs looking the other way. The fans are simply a small part of the product being sold here.

The fact that the FA's new CEO has spent her last 20 years working in TV, doesn't exactly help the situation.

How did I miss this? Looks like she sat on her decision for a couple of months before dropping the bombshell.

Fantastic news if you ask me. I'd love to see the FA bring a proper "football man" in. Even if they have to poach one of the club CEOs.

Are there no suitably qualified former players? There's always a few who have a brain and go on to use it in life after football. Someone with a direct knowledge of how the deals done/changes made will translate to/for the player on the pitch.

The FA was trying to virtue signal & look politically correct by giving her the job, now that it has backfired and made their judgement look poor maybe we’ll get somebody who knows football into the job - but I wouldn’t bank on it with the FA 🙄

She done them a favour though, now nobody can complain a woman isn't in the job, without blaming a woman

Not sure what the FA can do to prevent fans from protesting in a country that believes in free speech. Neither can I see what they can do to remove an owner who is a fit and proper person and owns the club. It’s their money and let’s say their asset so they can decide what they do with it financially.

Perhaps they could get someone who could survey a club each year looking at staff morale, the facilities, the financial behaviour of the club, fan opinions, player morale, health and safety, etc. The results of these surveys could then allow the FA to force action on the club or face a fine.

The only thing that would actually work is more direct action - not that I am recommending that of course... 👀
