That was fun not.

So to start i am gutted we went out its all i want to win in football now.
You would of thought Puel had shot bambi
The team he put contained seven of the miraclal season player and the we must play Fuchs and Simpson brigade got their way
Only one defensive midfielder the Puel drop Mendy and Ndiddi boys got their wish
We should with those players won but know its not down to the tactics it's Newport played out of their skins and our lot aren't good enough. Puel sent a message to the owners and Rudkin buy a striker.

We had chances and Albrightons aberation cost us the game after we had got back into it.

Puel won't be sacked for that but some players will.

"My thoughts when I saw the team were:
- Where's the pace?
- Who's actually going to stick the ball in the net, given how Okazaki has the composure of a startled horse and Iheanacho looks like a rabbit in headlights?
- That centre midfield could prove to be a mistake."

I thought exactly this

It's one of those rare occasions when I think everybody has a point to some extent:

Was it Puel’s fault? Yes, he picks the team, coaches the players and manages the tactics
Should the team have won anyway? Yes the players underperformed badly although, but for an unfortunate handball, we’d still be in the bag
Was our squad depth exposed? Yes, we’re toothless without Vardy and don’t have enough creativity generally
Are individual players not giving us what we need? Ian, Oki, Ghezzal, Gray haven’t delivered for some time
Is recruitment to blame? We’re a team with aspirations of finishing 7th and when we looked at our 2nd string we had James starting and King on the bench. FFS - I honestly thought those days were behind us

I have some sympathy with Puel for many of the reasons noted above, the players ought to take their share of the blame for a poor performance against a side three divisions lower; however, Claude selected the side (including the bench) and tactics, so this result isn't going to ease pressure on him one iota.

Stop it Joby. Barring James and King, who were both so painfully short of match fitness, that team was not a bad one.

Our squad is not as bad as our manager is making it look in my opinion.

I obviously agree with everything else you say. Just for clarity. I would never cheat on you, this is just a minor tiff.

Trouble in paradise...

Joby, you can always make a mutual agreement pact with nuneaton_fox instead. Merseyside gone a bit loco these days. Mention the possibility of Puel In to him and he starts demanding where Nev is so he can punch his camel in the teeth.

It was Newport they are mid table lge 2, there are 20 odd other teams in lge 2 that can beat um and our squad team can't, in the end we used 10 players that have started recent prem lge games,

Nuneaton is obviously an extremely bright and erudite fella given his profession .... and Mersey has gone all opinionated and inflammatory recently. It’s like him and BS have swapped personalities.

Mersey’s not good for me at the moment, but he’s still the bad boy I keep going back to.
