So I've ummed and ahhed about writing this article. I'd be what you call a ghost member of the forum, I'll pop in the odd comment every now and again but don't really comment and haven't written an article on it in years, so it is a bit out of the blue. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the posters (bears, bhoys, terrors, dons, and even the tourists who occasionally pop north of the border when they want a roasting) for the continued good banter.
My new wife and I have been through some dark times in the last few months; we were pregnant with twins and lost both of them while on our honeymoon. One of those surreal experiences where you go from genuine bliss to the opposite end of the spectrum in an instant. You watch and listen to the sonogram and hear no heartbeat and the Italian doctor with limited English trying to explain that we'd lost them and feel numb. On top of that, every time we had to tell folk who had known we were pregnant it was just devastating to see how upset they all understandably were.
Being able to come on here, to read and occasionally comment on whatever is the topic of the day, was a genuine escape that was so nice to be able to do, just that feeling of normality at a time when things were anything but. So as I said at the top, sincerely to you all, thank you! Without knowing it you were all such a help to me in getting through the toughest time of my life.
