Utd V LFC or League Cup Final

So the league cup final is on the same day we play Utd. I bet our game has 10 times as many viewers as the League Cup final.

All the City fans will be watching it and supporting Utd to try and take points from us.

Which game is bigger Utd v Liverpool or the League Cup Final?

I know a cup is a good thing but we are the record holders for that competition so only fair to let some other club have a crack at the worthless cup

Seems odd to put the main even on first

I'd like to know the levels of interest from neutrals in Manchester City.

I don't out and out support an English team but i'm completely nonplussed for City and i can't fully work out why. With the players they have I should be filled with excitement but i'm not ever stirred normally.

If Liverpool, Spurs, United or Chelsea are playing on TV i'll go out of my way to watch it, the same just doesn't happen with City or Arsenal (which i put down to the malaise)

Some of it is down to the crowd, empty seats etc but it's also something more. It feels like apart from United they don't have any real rivalry and their team rarely get stuck in to a feisty game so you can't get behind them in the manner.

Champions League nights are verging on depressing when compared to the other 5. It lacks the je ne sais quoi of the other clubs.

The League Cup Final vs Liverpool's Cup Final? Tough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've got loads of cup finals coming up, don't go thinking this one is any more important to us
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That doesn't bode well for you then under Klopp
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's alright, we've also played loads of cup finals recently and won most of them.

I remember reading a few years ago that Utd v Liverpool games were watched by more people worldwide than El Classico. I wonder if that is still the case now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It did in 2017, it was the second most watched match worldwide and el clasico was third.

The manchester derby was the biggest.

Liverpool v United will win hands down in Ireland and Scandinavia but the Final will probably get the biggest global audience.

I doubt the broadcasting rights to the League Cup are sold to major channels everywhere. It just isn't all that appealing.

PL is, though.

Unless there's huge fanfare about the final (which there won't be) most people will just tune in to their usual channel. Many won't even realise the LC final is being played.

The counter to that is the rights are probably ridiculously cheap so it could be on free to watch in more places

I get the point though, I’m not even that bothered about it!

I'm going to Wembley, if I wasn't I'd probably watch both games anyway.
