I don't watch English football, nor do I watch, Irish, Spanish, Dutch, Danish or Mexican. However, as a BBC licence player part of my licence fee is going to pay for the live English games eg, 'Milwall v Everton' live Cup game tonight (really? who gives a feck??) just as it's been used previously to pay for other English football being paraded all over on BBC SCOTLAND!
Now there is a couple of things here, and so that no one misunderstands me I shall try to spell them out.
1. I am not anti-English but I seriously don't give a monkey's cach about English football, have no interest it in it and don't watch it - the said Millwall v Everton being a prime example. If I were English and living/staying in Scotland I would probably get excited but I'm not and it's a feckin disgrace that our licence money is being used to pay for English football that is then broadcast on prime time BBC 1 Scotland.
2. MOTD, the previews and the showing of the English 'highlights' on BBC Scotland. FFS how much prime time AND money does BBC Scotland allocate to this keech?? I am a Celtic supporter BUT I would watch any Scottish game( including and especially Rangers' games) against any English game, but only because I am interested in Scottish football - eg, I watched Auchinleck Talbot v Ayr and have turned off the Millwall v Everton crap. BTW, This is NOT a political rant, but on Wednesday night on BBC 1 FECKIN SCOTLAND I had to wait until 12.20am before I could watch the SPFL highlights. They were of course on BBC 1 SCOTLAND, but, only after the MOTD/English cup/English league pisssh.
Here's a radical suggestion - if the BBC must impose English football on Scotland, why not put it on BBC2 Scotland?? That way those that want to watch it can, and, to be really feckin radical, why don't BBC Scotland adopt the protocol that Scottish football highlights on BBC1 SCOTLAND will ALWAYS be shown before the football highlights from another country?

Was at almondvale for the first time this season.
Horrible game but it's a good place to watch football. Like a small version of a good stadium.

Not the first time this has been raised.
Quite rightly as well.
The only English games I watch are at National level.
And even then I'm very choosy and usually in Final Competitions.

Seems a totally pointless argument. There are many people in the UK that don't like football at all who will be upset by how much is on the tv, just as those who dislike reality tv, so its a mixed bag and you takes your pick. Presumably bbc scotland cant afford or dont rate scottish football to give it more prominence.

Not sure I agree Schiz.
Licenced TV companies have strict time allocations they must adhere to
- comedy, news, soaps, drama, sport etc.
The BBC must show a fixed amount of football within that.
When a big cut of this is currently directed to English Cup games
this must be detrimental to other areas.
