I feel like I need an article on Ben Davies. He irritates me even more.

Davies and Trippier. 2 extremely weak full backs. weak in the tackle and slow. No aggression between them

Today we lacked someone with Guile and speed of thought , way to many side to side balls played .

We have all known just how average our full bask have been for ages.

Its no surprise that the season we were scoring goals for fun was when we had Walker and Rose both in great form.

The situation just goes to show how easy it is to get elevated to "a great player" in the modern day era.

Trippier is not the only one in our squad to be elevated this way, Dier, Wanyama, Moura, Sanchez are all distinctly average but somehow we keep getting told how good they are.

Trippier had a good world cup, playing a position where he had very little defending to do (just as well) all he had to do was make some good deliveries which he can do if given time and space.

He has never been better than average and never will be.

Agree on Dier. Man U bid £60 m for him a few seasons ago 🤣

I have come to the conclusion that Pochettino didn't want to win this one.
I can't think why Rose & Aurier were left on the bench, Vertonghen subbed off for Lamela at HT, and Toby not even on the bench.
Think there's something going on between Pochettino and Levy behind the scenes.
I wonder what?

Oh yes, and as for Trippier, its been obvious the guy can't run back any faster than a snail - got burnt by Dybala in that Juve game we never should have lost - remember?

Poor old Tripps, he is getting slaughtered.

He’s our first choice fullback until we can find another one, people need to accept this as fact and move on, pathetic.

He isn’t very good but Aurier is probably worse.

Move both on in the summer is what is needed.

Think everyone by now knows Tripps strengths and weaknesses.
I Knew them before we even bought him so I have given up slaughtering him.

Can’t expect him to one day start beating 1 or 2 players or stop dropping the occasional clanger or
Stop being flummoxed by skill and pace.

Unfortunately when you try to do things on the cheap you can’t always expect quality.
