Caribou final v Chelsea

Fixtures for both clubs up to & after the final should give an indicator how strong each will start given priorities elsewhere

Chelsea
Thurs 14th Malmo A europa
Mon 18th Man Utd H facup
Thurs 21st Malmo H europa
Sun 24th Man City N caribou
Wed 27th Spurs H premier league

City
Sat 16th Newport A facup
Wed 20th Schalke A champions league
Sun 24th Chelsea N caribou
Wed 27th West Ham H premier league

Generally Pep plays strong sides in every competition and other than Muric being a pretty much guaranteed starter rather than Ederson,I think only Foden would normally be likely to be starting in place of a more regular squad player.

We are bound to be full strength in Schalke though so I suspect we could be very vulnerable if Chelsea prioritise the final as I can see majority of the squad starting over the 2 games

Schalke

Ederson
Walker Stones Laporte Zinchenko
Fernandinho DeBruyne Gundogan
Sterling Aguero Silva B

Chelsea

Muric
Danilo Otamendi Garcia Mendy
Foden Silva D Delph
Sane Jesus Mahrez

I think we need a LB as I despair of Mendy ever being fit. Could play the Academy against WetSham and still win 4-0

Let’s just hope alonso doesn’t play.

It’s not even Mendy being fit bom - his off the pitch antics are the sort of thing the club have tried to detach themselves from over recent years. Not to mention they also leave you questioning his commitment to actually working back into the side.

I’d say that 2nd choice lineup is more likely to start against Newport than Chelsea.

Fernandinho and KdB to start in both the Final and Schalke games.

True, as your academy costs more than half a billion.

The real question is will Chelsea be any better organised than they were on Sunday. If Sarri is still there I think not. In fact if he's still there and they don't win it could be a taxi job. I couldn't believe how woeful their defending was on Sunday.

We should still be very wary of Chelsea, they more or less matched us for goal attempts and possession on Sunday.

It's true they had 20 minutes or so when they really got at us in the first half. The key is Jorghino, if Sarri were to drop him and play Kante in that position it would be a completly different proposition. But Sarri is as stubborn as a mule.

I thought our academy cost £5bn?
