Points Comparison

The less said about last season the better, especially the second half.

Out of curiosity though, I had a look at our points total and found that we'd won 60 points in 46 games and finished in 13th place. Finishing just below us in 14th with the same number of points but with a poorer goal difference were none other than Norwich.

We are just 2 points short of last season's total with 15 games to go - one third of the season.

We've had a torrid time since the New Year but the points total puts into context how well we have done overall, not to mention our league position. The other side of that coin underlines how really bad we were in the second half of last season.

Poor runs will come to an end, and given the number of games we have left we have every chance of finishing in one of the auto positions. We have to keep believing, as difficult as it can be after a bad result when emotions are running high, mine included. It's there for the taking and we're right in the thick of it, despite the poor run.

Let's get back on track starting against Swansea on Wednesday, stuff the EFL and their "spygate" investigation, and build a bit of momentum results-wise. Another game played is another game nearer. This team never gives up and will find its form again. Oh, and if its not asking too much, a clean sheet would be nice for a change rather than having to endure the usual early "FFS" posts and having to chase the game

This is our year, in our centenary year, no doubt doing it the hard way as we usually do, but when has it ever been any different?
