Looking at the players we've bought from overseas in recent years both perm and on loan ( Albentosa, Camara, Bueno, Omar Mascarell etc...) who would you say from the year 2000 onwards has been a success?
We'll always look back on Baiano, Eranio, Stimac, Wanchope and Asanovic fondly, along with Rasiak, Idiakez and Reich - but majority of the players I've mentioned were before 2000 or just after. A quick check and Rasiak was at Derby 2004-2005, 14 years ago.
Does that mean for 14+ years Derby's scouts have failed to find a gem good enough to play in the Championship from Europe or further?
Brentford, with a much smaller budget than our own have an excellent scouting system and have found rough diamonds and sold them on for an excellent profit. I just find it baffling that a club of our magnitude and finances has continually failed to find players good enough from the European leagues lower divisions.
I'm hoping someone could prove me wrong and point out a player that I may have missed that has made an impression. I honestly can't think of many.

In did too but I think Desi is correct. Our scouts have failed abjectly to find, even reasonable talent from abroad.

We couldn't scout foreign players when Nigel was in charge because the scout had to get up early and do the newspapers.

I would have liked feedback opinion on our Scots, Welsh and Irish signings but the "overseas" bit seems to have put people off
