The no.1 reason the Attitude Era was great was because above all else the $hit was fun and the fans were laid back about it. Not every match has to be this tense, testosterone laden battle or a bunch of gymnastics passing as a 5* classic, it's OK to find some of this stuff funny even if that's not the intention.

Besides Ronda's match, the best part of Mania last year was the stuff with Cena & Taker because it was absolutely hilarious. Was the best thing Cena's done since the noughties because he didn't take himself seriously, made himself the butt of a joke and it was fantastic.

But it must be so exhausting to think like that about something so trivial as wrestling. Boiled down it's a bunch of guys and girls in tights flipping around or screaming into a microphone. As emotionally resonating and physically skillful it can be when done right, it's clearly an entertainment medium to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I've been a wrestling fan for approx 20 years and even I've taken to saying "you know it's fake right" to other wrestling fans, because that stuck up defensive response is just too easy to get out of fans today
