West Brom Sack Darren Moore

I know he set them up strange against us .......but really ???

posted on 9/3/19

Start of the season I would have expected pound for pound West Brom to finish minimum top 4 with stoke villa and boro with forest challenging.
So to get the sack in 4th is harsh. Should have got to the end of the season imo because they could still finish top 2.
I think the fact Norwich Sheff Utd and Leeds on tiny transfers / budgets in comparison above them does him no favours

Right call.

He's underperformed.

9 points behind / 30 still to play for.

25 might give them a chance

It's ridiculous. A team sitting in 4th position.
And; he's not underperformed. The team has. Lately.

They are the 2nd most scoring team in the league, with a gd +20.
Panic, that's what it is

DL11, spot on, it's an absolute failure, if you were his bosses would you have confidence that he would get them through the play-offs, I would be doubtful to say the least.
The sacking isn't about their current position or whether he is "clueless" or not it's about the end game, getting the club through the play-offs.

This.

Can't see why a lot of people seem so surprised he got the boot.

Full credit to Leeds and Sheff Utd this season for having a strong chance at the automatic places, but West Brom really should've made one their own with the squad they have.

Shame it hasn't worked for Moore though, he's a top bloke.

I'm surprised that they've taken the decision now and not sooner given the sequence of results.

When he was appointed I thought he'd be another Terry Connor but he's done reasonably well. The board/owners have panicked and they might just rue the timing of his sacking.

They have underperformed though. Not to the same extent as the other teams who were expected to be up there, but still. There was an opportunity for WBA to be top this season. They haven't taken it. They aren't looking like top two, and he hasn't demonstrated the tactical acumen to get them there. Yesterday they dropped points from a winning position at home to the worst side in the league.

For all that he is a young coach and seems a nice guy, I personally don't think he's achieved what he should have this season. Same goes for Pulis and Lampard.

Problem is they had a real chance over the last few games to put not only the top three under pressure but to open a gap between the top four and everyone else.

If you look at the form table for the top 7 teams apart from us sheff u and Norwich it’s pretty poor at the moment, unfortunately they couldn’t capitalise on that.
