Engine room

Just seen that Whiteman (ankle) and Kane (groin) are going to be missing for between 4 and 6 weeks. Apparently McCann thinks that the 16 year old holding midfielder Lisak Hasani played well when he came on as a sub, but can we get back into the playoff places without the two main pistons in our engine?

If we can get back into the play-offs without them it will be indicative of McCann's belief that the squad is strong enough to compete for a place in the Championship. 4 to 6 weeks takes us forward a calendar month to the Accrington game. Six games will be played, four of which are at home, all winnable except for the trip to the Stadium of Light.

Given that five are versus relatively moderate opposition we ought to be able to get through these with maximum points. Apart from Sunderland, only Bristol Rovers are in the top half of the form table.

If we cannot take 15 points or 13 at least it will prove that we are not the team McCann believes he has.

We could but I don't think we are strong enough. The midfield yesterday of Rowe Crawford and Blair were weak, bullied, couldn't string any passes together and looked unfit. I think we've burnt ourselves out if I'm being honest and think we'll finish a credible 8th.

I think it is a folly to suggest that games against teams in the bottom half should yield maximum points.
At this stage of the season, teams in that position can very often up their performance levels because they are playing for their futures.
They have at least as much to play for as teams that are fighting for a top six position.

There are no easy games.

We are obviously having a bad time just now and the loss of Kane and Whiteman makes our midfield especially weak.
The manager now has to earn his corn by finding a way for us to win matches without them.

I would like to see us begin with a 4-5-1 set up this week.
It isn’t negative if the players support JM in the right way and it would help us to overcome the loss of the two players.

Spot on hound this is the point we discover how good GM is.
I will always remember everyone was calling for SODS head we were having a disastrous run
O conner was shocking Roberts not much better.
He changed the system and suddenly they became our best players.
I await your reports from Tuesdays game.
Come on Rovers

Cometh the hour cometh the man.

Let's see who steps up, cos we need someone to. We are getting bullied, nobody is taking up the job of leader, that is what's needed.
I said at the beginning of the season that we would make the playoffs, win at Wembley too. Now I just want us to, well, try to finish the season on a high. We're struggling to do the basics, especially in defence, I believe McCann should play Anderson and Dowling as our CB pairing. Don't know what it is but, since Anderson went off at Shrewsbury we've been @#$% at the back.
I think Danny Andrews needs to sort himself out, as young Amos will be our first choice next season. Midfield is so weak without our two little tigers, it is rather embarrassing to see. Up front we've lost the plot.
All this could turn around over next 3 games. BUT, all 3 teams are fighting for survival from the drop, so will be well up for it, something we can't handle at the mo. Gillingham are in 12th place, only 5pts from being in a relegation spot. There's lots of twists n turns to come yet.
All part of supporting the mighty Ziggers 😁😎😂🤣
