Spurs want to host the Superbowl

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8723847/tottenham-news-new-stadium-host-super-bowl-nfl/

This was reported in the US a couple of weeks. Its been the trend over the past decade that new stadium builds in the NFL are rewarded with hosting the Superbowl. Having one in London makes huge commercial sense for the NFL as they continue their expansion but also points to the increasing likelyhood Spurs could be the venue for the first team outside the US. The press over here were speculating London could be a host city prior to it going back to LA & Vegas for the still to be completed Rams & Raiders new homes

Kahn's failure to buy Wembley and the commercial agreements already in place with the NFL could be a massive financial windfall for Spurs

Credit where its due Mr Levy..... this stadium could well be a game changer !!!!! Lets just hope Spurs can win there now

What kind of pitch is the second one that they stick in for NFL? Is it artificial like 3G astroturf kind of stuff or are they able to keep 2 grass pitches in good condition throughout the year?

It’s a artificial pitch

Which would they use for Rugby then? Fackin hammers sliding on that kind of pitch unless they're different to what we use. It's okay for NFL players as they wear those noncey trousers.

Just imagine the scenes if after the first NFL game the retractable football pitch fails to fully deploy (and then cannot be retracted again) because one of the rails buckles or something rendering the stadium unusable for months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Motors fail, get people in to push it,
The pitch sections weigh 3,000 tonnes each so good luck with that.

a rail buckles, you replace it.
Which would possibly require the removal of at least one of the 3,000 tonen pitch segments first

What if one of the stands burns down ?
Why the fυсk even mention this, I was talking about mechanical failure rendering the pitch unusable.

Couldn't possibly happen at another stadium could it ?
No what I describe couldn't happen at another stadium because other stadiums do not have a retractable football pitch.

Fυсking idiot.

Rugby would use the grass pitch I assume and I’m pretty sure it’s only the Saracens v Harlequins game going to be played

Actual location of the Superbowl is irrelevant..... Its all about how it looks on TV. Its impossible to get a ticket and barely any fans from either team get to go. Its all about corporate sponsorship and advertising. Its the perfect opportunity for the NFL to spread the brand across the pond... which by the way is the same distance from NY as LA !
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what time would the game start in the UK?

About 11pm and end about 2am..

Fack off if that'll ever happen

There is a difference of 800 miles, or 1300 kilometres.

Cool story, how do you suggest to get to London then? Ocean steamer?

Cant believe you are getting a hard on over your stadium being used for another sport
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t worry, I’m sure you can hold a World Series at Anfield one day
