Game of Thrones thread 🤴🏻 no spoilers 🤴🏻

Don't know what to make of it. I guess in one sense it's the perfect ending because it ended with everything very safe and boring. There'd be no drama left in the GOT universe they left us with, and GOT has always been about that, so a good place to end.

Can't help but feel it could have been more thrilling.

Poor ending to a great show. Such a shame. To cram all they have into 6 episodes it just feels wrong. It's a victim of its own success though. Too expensive and time consuming to make.

Ah well.....

Bit of an anti climax in the end particularly for the Arya and John Snow characters.
Every episode this season has raised as many questions as they've answered
Last night it was like the writers just ran out of ideas

needed a good script, the effect music acting etc were all excellent

Not sure what to make of the finale really. I am leaning towards not liking it.

Watched it at 2am. Should have just waited!

Massively underwhelming and pretty much style over substance is the theme of the final season.

Hopefully the books will be a lot better at tying up all the threads and resolving various character arcs.

As most people are saying it's not so much what they did with the story but how they did it.

Like the appearance of a Starbucks coffee cup in a previous episode, this time we had a plastic water bottle in one of the scenes.
Just another indicator of how sloppy and rushed these final episodes were.

The plot holes were tragically bad in this season. The memes are funny to read on the Twitter accounts of the cast though.

Jon being a Targaryon meant nothing in the end. Then he's banished to the wall in fear of Greyworm and the unsullied killing him and they are heading of to Narth anyway. Jon could have just stayed.

Arya speaking to Jon "I'm heading west. Nobody knows what's west of Westeros". The new king and the all knowing and seeing 3 eyed raven sitting right next to her. I imagine he'd have a fair idea Arya.

Such a shame they didn't wrap the story up like they should have done. It's slightly tarnished what for me is the best thing ever seen on TV. The writing was tragic in S8.

Looks like the writers are in a hurry to clear out the supernatural elements of the story in a bid to flesh out both the old and new characters.

That's the Night King, the Red Lady, and at least one dragon gone. I'm guessing all the dragons will be dead soon, going by the title-sequence's reference to the dragon skulls buried under King's Landing.

What next? A conventional arms treaty? Universal suffrage across the land?
