Hats off to Watford and Wolves. Apart from the first 10 mins that game was brilliant to watch, right to the end.
That is what semi finals ( and Finals ) were like every year when I was a kid. Until the sky 4 came along with their money and have continued to dominate this competition ever since. Why do people ask if the FA cup lost it's magic ?
The other semi ....... actually fell asleep in the middle of it. Was, yet again, a City match that had a 100% inevitability to it, to the extent that any excitement was already sucked out of it before it started.
I appreciate Liverpool have had a good season, but it has taken them a spend of around 1/4 billion just to get close to City.
Unfortunately our league, and particularly our cup competitions have become like Italy, Germany and France, with 90% of their supporters starting every season with the same lack of hope / air of inevitability.
We all know if anyone gets remotely close to City, they will just go out and out spend rivals to get to another level and stay ahead.
Personally I don't want to watch football where the result is already forgone conclusion. Today's semi final was everything I wan't from a football match.
So again well done Watford and Wolves for putting on an old fashion semi final.
Now that's a semi final !!!

Haven't the rules changed for mere finalists? I'm sure Villa (2015) and Palace (2016) didn't get in Europe?

Be interesting to see a battle if Liverpool were allowed to spend another quarter of a billion without reply from city but peps already said he wants to add another 4 players minimum so thats another 200million minimum more than likely.

If spurs get knocked out by city in europe I hope city go into do the quadruple. Maybe then pep and the money people might say ‘football- completes it mate’ then go away. Might make things a bit more evenand more interesting in coming seasons
