Putting Gomez on having only just returned from injury, leaving TAA off and waiting far, far, far too long to respond to Barca putting Semedo on (resulted in next two goals) cost us the leg.
That and a level of gritted determination to win way above that which we demonstrated. Call him a racist cheat but Suarez epitomised the winning attitude that carries teams on.
We’ve got a great squad which is something to be proud of, we just need to learn how to win when it counts as our record in these moments is pretty shocking.

I'd assume it was just a tactical move. TAA is excellent going forward but a little suspect defensively so I guess Gomez may have been the more defensive option. But Gomez isn't a full back imo, gets caught out far too often there.

I'm surprised TAA maybe didn't make an appearance after 55 or so minutes when Liverpool had control of the game. But once Barca brought Semedo on and went to 4-4-2, they gained control of the game and had the game by the scruff of the neck, regardless of the possession stats.

Whilst my team has very little chance of progressing in the other semi, this post only brings two words to mind. Clutching and straws.
