So frustrating

Arsenal just ended up dropping points to fecking Brighton, if these caaants could’ve just got the job done we would’ve gone into the last game of the season with a big chance of getting 4th. Especially with Arsenal playing Burnley away and Spurs lining up against Everton.

This is the worst season we’ve had to endure since Fergie retired. Absolutely agonising.

Don't understand the meltdown every time you get a bad result. You need to accept your new status and move on. Wolves will finish above United next season. Grasp reality and things get easier.

Doubt it, the bigger clubs like Everton, Newcastle and Leicester will probably cherry pick your best players and manager

We'll see about that. They won't be cherry picking any of yours that's for sure.....

It's been the most meme top four race ever. Take yourself out of that for a moment and it's been amazing.

Worse than Moyes?? LVG's philsophy literally put us fans to sleep!

Atleast we had the win in Turin and Paris, along with the unbeaten run!

This is so painfully true!

Prem

I must admit, I have really enjoyed all the memes since we've been crap. None will top peak Van Gaal, however, those were the day.

It surely puts the meltdown and ridiculous questioning of Ole into perspective. The their teams aren’t doing any better, had s major head start on us given the points tally under Mourinho and have had time to build or begin building their own teams.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How the other teams are doing is completely independent of us though.

We have been awful for three months and while the players can and should be blamed, the manager should be too.
===============

The manager has this squad exactly where it should be. Roughly 6th.

That's the level of this side. He had it punching above it's weight for around 3 months until fitness, injuries and a terrible difficult run of fixtures came around - exactly as many people expected.

To suddenly be downbeat and bordering apocalyptic after the predictable outcomes came to fruition is ridiculous and shows how fickle some people on being here. In your case you're just doing your usual contrarianism.

The point about comparing to other teams is important for two key reasons:

1. Spurs, Arsenal & Chelsea are stumbling over or near the line with managers who have had time and/or transfer windows to develop their squad. That we've kept pace with them - indeed, dramatically caught up with them with our well documented problems is a credit to Ole.

2. You've been one of the worse offenders when it comes to flip-flopping about whether Ole was the right appointment, with constant admiring glances aimed towards Pochettino. Yet, despite having a long time to build a very good Spurs side, Ole has us finishing only a couple of points away from them, and had certain results and performances gone very slightly different, maybe even ahead of them. So you might like to reflect on is that no serious criticism can be levelled at Ole until much, much later in his tenure (a few tactical choices in some games aside, but our issues haven't really been tactical ones).
