Which top 6 club is in the worst position

going forward?

Obviously we are ruling out Liverpool and City as for me they are currently the top 2 sides in Europe and need minimal investment this summer.

So who is in the weakest position out of the rest?

Chelsea

There has been some turbulence but in the end they came out of it with a very good season. CL football and another trophy. There is great uncertainty at the club though. Their best player is off and the manager also wants out which could be an even bigger problem if the transfer ban is upheld. Without Hazard you just don’t see where the goals are going to come from. A lot depends on the transfer ban but regardless of how much you spend it’s virtually impossible to replace a top 10 in the world player.

Spurs

They did extremely well to reach a CL final but there is a suggestion that it did paper over the cracks slightly. Spurs under Poch have always been a difficult side to beat in previous seasons. This season they lost 20 games in all comps if I’m not mistaken. That’s a lot for any top club. It may be the right time for Poch to move on. Do they have the funds to get closer to the top 2 after building a new stadium?

Arsenal

I think Emery has done alright but it’s a tough job and in the end it was a very Wenger latter years like season. No CL again and froze on the big occasion of the cup final. As I said it’s a difficult job as he inherited a bang average group of players and hasn’t been given the funds to close the gap. The only real quality they have is up front and even then one of those looks like a flat track bully and the other one is not hugely prolific. Top 4 is possible but without major changes this side is a million miles from a title challenge.

Man Utd

Where do I start? Too many sub standard players, doubts about the future of our the proven top players, doubts whether lads dubbed the future (Rashford and Martial) are actually good and doubts whether the manager is big enough for the job. The only cause for optimism is that the funds seem like they are going to be made available and if they are used right then it can make a huge difference. People like to point the finger at Ed and the Glazers but they have produced exciting signings. Problem is most haven’t worked out and that needs to change.

My verdict:

Arsenal are in the weakest position of the top 6 due to their current squad and lack of major investment.

Thoughts?

Yep.

I said they should start an article where they all sign up and agree to mass filter him. Then he won’t be able to post on any article. Just needs one of them to organise it.

I see RDD is at it again. He's entertaining for a little while (like a day), but he soon becomes tiresome and derails good threads. I've already filtered him.

I’m not bothered about filtering you, but all the Utd fans think you’re a massivecunt who ruins every article (in case you hadn’t noticed).

I would like to say we are, but our only glimmer of hope is that we have a much bigger financial advantage. But that in itself is also a side problem for another topic.

So, I’d have to say that it’s Arsenal, as they have a stockpile of average players (yes, like us) but that it will be more difficult to replace them than our situation.

They have an owner who neglects them and uses them as a mini cash cow. An owner who doesn’t seem that bothered if his club misses out on the top 4 (after years of constant top 4 finishes) he’s taken it for granted.

Now, if and that’s a big IF we can get in the right players (through several phases) we can start to build something. But that lingering knowledge of the wrong people in the wrong job roles is hindering our club’s progress. Like as if we’re slowly progressing with the handbrake on.
