What are peoples thoughts on nathan ake at Bournemouth
Looked decent the few times I've seen him last season. Comfortable on the ball , good in the air and scored a few as well
Another good young Dutch CB in the making

Would rather the Maddison rumours were true than Maguire if we we're shopping at Leicester.

I think he's good, but I think we need someone that will improve us right now and that's not him. He does still have some mistakes in his game though.

Apparently Dunk is off to Leicester so a Maguire move is looking more likely. Lewis Dunk wouldn't be a bad signing for United tbh.

Defending wise I'd say Maguire is at a similar level to Smalling, but better on the ball and passing it/bringing it into midfield. Good injury record and solid in the air for set pieces.

If someone asked me if it would be worth spending £70m to improve Smallings passing/ball control a little bit I'd say no, I want someone that's a lot better at defending as well.

Maguire would be a rip off, even though he probably would improve us a tad.

Toby Alderweireld, 25m, better than Maguire, will give at least two years at the top. If we get Maguire we're just barely improving our defence. And his weaknesses will not be glossed over as they are now.

More accurately Evans is a better central defender than Maguire.

Maguire is a better footballer in terms of ability on the ball.

What do United want/need? If it's someone to improve them into a more solid a defensive unit then there is probably better.

If it's a defender who can also play out from the back and support the midfield then Maguire might be the man.

With their high possession style and the way they play out from the back I instinctively think he might suit City over United - but that depends on how Ole wants to develop the team.

I’d love to see Maguire playing in a Pep team. It’d be more comical than John Stones is.

We need someone who can be both a better defender and a footballer. We already have Lindelof who can do what you said about Maguire in that post.

It's why Maguire wouldn't be a good buy based on the fee we have been quoted. For that fee, he'd be expected to transform our defence as VVD did at Liverpool. If you think the critism of Pogba has been bad, then this will be worse.
