Does anyone play it, and if so do you think it is completely rigged/set up and designed in a way that it pushes you towards buying better players - perhaps with real money?
I was winning a game 2-0. I conceded twice in the 90th minute
One own goal, one deflected shot and then in extra time I conceded two penalties and then I quit out of disgust.
This type of thing happens every other game for me, and it's quite simply unavoidable.
I do not have control over the outcome of most of the games I play in FUT CHAMPS.
Baring in mind in head to head seasons I got to div 1 with a record of 60-3 or something.
Anyway - I've watched YouTube videos online of guys with ridiculously good teams and they never suffer from the same crap that I and many others do.. why? Because they already have the best players in every position so the game doesn't really need to screw them over does it?
They probably did experience the garbage though, when they didn't have the best players in the game.
The whole tactics thing on the set up of your team is good fun to play around with, and it works 50% of the time, the other 50% the players on your team completely ignore any tactics you have set up and just play their own game. Leaving you in a hopeless situation where you may as well just score an own goal, just so the game gives you back some control again.
I remember one of the old FIFA'S, think it was 12 or 13, I had a full bronze team and I used to smash even the gold teams in division 1. I felt like the game was rigged to allow a crap team (mine) to play slightly better and give me a slight advantage over others.
Funny thing was, as soon as I bought good players, a full gold team, I started to lose against teams I was winning against previously.

Fifa 19 is fecking awful. Last few games have been bad but there was still some element of fun in the gameplay. This one has nothing.
I actually bought fifa 12 again cos I was in the mood for some fun football. Never had to do that before

last fifa for me was 2016, liked playing the career mode but it was obvious they just started to re hash the same thing over and over with probably just 1 rubbish change like transfer negotiations, its obvious they put their money into the FUT side of it as that's where they make the most money so makes sense I guess

I did some research about this on Reddit, Greg.
I only started playing fut in May so I also have a rather poor team, but have been hitting Gold 3 on a regular basis.
Apparently the matchmaking system pits you against better players the more you win.
One week I got to 12 wins out of 18 games, ended up with 14 out of 28. Kept getting matched against excellent players with amazing teams, i've beaten highly skilled players before, but with my team it is really hard to get a win over them.
Basically it is just EA trying to force us to pay for the best players.

Still think its done by a log in basis and how many times you log in, a theory i've had for years.
Log ins 0-10 - gameplay is fine, maybe even scripted in your favour, your players are quick and mobile and passing is on point.
Log ins 11-20 - gameplay is sluggish, you get BS decisions against you, players cannot pass it 5 yards, cannot sprint, just get cheated each game.
Log ins 21-30 - Average gameplay, 50/50 games where it seems balanced.
Log ins 31-40 - see Log ins 01-10.
And repeat.
