I watched the full 90 minutes against St Gallen, Scott Brown played the full 90 minutes. In an interview after the game Lenny described Brown's performance as magnificent. It was anything but.
Every time he got the ball he either played the ball backwards or on the rare occasion that he played a forward pass he took an age to do so. Having him in the side slows everything down.
In the previous game when Brown didn't start Calum McGregor was in that position and every time he received the ball he looked to go forward. His passes were quick and accurate and our overall play improved as a result.
Lenny's blind spot will cost us. When he got the job he said he would build the side around Scott Brown.
Brown still has a big part to play. There will be times when we will need his defensive attributes and experience. It's also good to have him around the place with so many changes happening.
However the time has come where we should be looking to phase him out, not building the side around him.
