Cup final Sunday

Why wouldn't it. It's proved very popular, with millions watching, it's a World Cup final. They could easily have chosen a day when it's the big, and only, attraction.

Because it is a minority sport. Millions will be watching the Copa America final.

How is it unfair to have the Womans World Cup final on the same day, but totally different times, to mens football?
Maybe we should cancel all sporting events on Sunday to let a minority sport get TV coverage?

Because they want to grow the standing of women's football, so it makes sense to have it on it's own day and give it relatively the same importance as the men's world cup final.

How does having games on at completely different times affect it?

Now that really is weird. Other sports have nothing to do with football, all sports have to live oon their own merits, be it tennis, cycling or cricket which all have big events on.
But is it a minority sport? And aren't they trying to grow it into a major sporting event. I don't see why you think it's weird, because it's not.

Womens football has to live on its own merits. Playing another game hours afterwards won't affect it at all.

Not sure I will catch any of them as having a long weekend away so may just get lucky and catch one at lunch in a bar or in the hotel in the even which is a shame given I have followed the tournies pretty closely.

I kinda get the gripe the women have about not being given a day to themselves but as pointed out it is a minority sport still despite the hyperbole.

Want Peru, Holland and Mexico to win. Think out of them, only Mexico will win.

On July 14th we've got the ICC world cup final, the British GP and the Wimbledon men's final.
Gonna be fun in the boozer that day!
