Ole Presser

Ole on @D_DeGea: "I've said many times how lucky I am, and how happy we are to have him in goal. So we hope he will stay here for many years."

OGS: "We are still in the market and looking to do some business. We are patient. We don’t have to sell and we don’t have to overpay."

OGS says Sanchez will have three weeks off but will be fit when he returns. On De Gea contract: "We hope DDG contract will get sorted. I am positive. We are lucky and happy to have him."

OGS: "Mason (Greenwood) will definitely play more games. He has grown a lot in the summer. He was our best player against Cardiff."

OGS on @ManUtd fans: "They want us to be successful. The loudest ones are not the greatest or the best fans. When I am out there and speaking to them they are all very positive. They want to see us win again."

OGS: "We are Man Utd, we don’t have to sell players. I don’t want to call it an agenda against Paul. He has a heart of gold. He has never been a problem."

Fans asking where is "ruthlessness" you promised in terms of change? OGS: "Yeah, I can see your point but doing business in the football market is not going to be a quick fix overnight. There are loads of players here I know are going to be successful at this club."

Solskjaer on Pogba: "Paul has never been a concern for me. When he's on the pitch he's working hard, he's a true professional, he's a proud boy. I can't be sitting here talking about Paul all the time and what agents are saying. We've got a few years left of his contract."

Solskjaer on Pogba: "Paul has never put himself out of the team, he's always wanted to play, he's always given his best and I can't report any more than that. Agents talk all the time. We've not had any bids from any clubs and that's all I can say about this matter."

Solskjaer on Lingard/Pogba footage: "Jesse and Paul were walking around and it's been portrayed as a fight between the two boys. I know you're here to sell papers and sell stories but there are no problems between the boys at all. Pre-season has been very good so far."

Solskjaer on Pogba: "With Paul, it looks like it's going to be a media ... I don't want to call it a ... but it's an agenda against Paul. He's a top, top bloke. He's a great professional. He's never been any problem. He's got a heart of gold."

Solskajer on Pogba: "I have been in touch with Paul and spoken to Paul, spoken to Rom. As far as I'm aware we don't have any bids for our players. We're Man United, we don't have to sell players."

Solskjaer on Pogba: "For me, Paul has been fantastic when he's come back in training. I'm not just talking about Mino Raiola, there are loads of agents out there and they have clients they are looking after. We have a team we have to manage."

Just watched the whole thing, and now I hate football journalists more than I did an hour ago, which is something I wouldn’t have thought possible.

Four out of the first five questions were about Pogba and Raiola - the same facking question dressed up different ways, with the last of the cuuuuunts getting defensive (“...I can assure you there’s not an agenda against Pogba...&rdquoand wound up because they’re not getting the answer they want from Ole.

Then the very next bellnd tries to wind Ole up with a “general” question about how he manages players who have said they no longer want to be at the club.

Utter slime, the lot of them. Hope they get eaten by crocs and snakes to a man.

Back on form there bud. I couldn't agree more.

The best way to deal with journalist like that is to make them look stupid. I remember Ronaldo doing it once when he played for us and the Real stuff was kicking off.

For the record I do think Ole would prefer Pogba left if he's not happy at the club but he's now trying to minimise the damage if Pogba ends up staying.
+++

yes you are probably right. But no one is buying that Pogba has give his all on the pitch so far. This is not a secret and is pointless saying it. Unless Ole really believes that od course. And if that is his best ... he is not good enough.
--------------------------

What is the point in saying that Pogba doesn't do enough in a press conference? If he is going to say that, he needs to say it to Pogba in private/the dressing room. Saying it in the press conference would only serve to drive down the price and demotivate Pogba if he does end up staying.

I am sure that Ole will be happy to get rid of Pogba if someone makes a suitable offer, but he also needs to plan for if he is in the squad next season. Pogba I think is more likely to respond to the arm around the shoulder approach, which is what Ole is doing.

He doesnt have to say it at all. He just doesn't have to say that Pogba does the complete opposite when he clearly hasn't so far. This just winds the fans up who know different and are very much divided about Pogbas worth to the team or the Club.. And is clearly ridiculous. Ole should keep quiet about individual players and manage (Pogba) from within the confines of the Club. Not through a press conference.

Did you watch the whole press conference RB&W? It’s worth seeing what he said in context. He did it for a reason.

Some of the questions coming from those utter slugs were unbelievable.

I think the only things people can criticise Pogba for is his form and publicly stating he wants a new challenge. I don’t know why his professionalism in the context of training and matches is in question.

I now want to him to leave after going public just like I wanted Rooney to leave but to question his attitude is bizarre.

Ole has known him since he was kid and I think he genuinely believes what he says about him. Pogba seems like one of those players even the receptionists and dinner ladies like judging by the welcome they gave him when he returned to the club.

I haven't seen the full presser yet, but I suspect that he is being very specific questions and giving specific answers to that. Either way, it makes sense to talk up the professionalism of a player that is very likely to be leaving to club. Why would you want to put any potential buyers off? I am quire sure that Ole will be glad to see the back of him, but he has to do/say what is best for the club. SAF often spoke absolute rubbish for this very reason.

....

I imagine that came from us watching him jogging around in some matches we were losing without a care in the world.

You can’t criticize someone for a lack of form in isolation, because it’s something that’s out of their control.

If a player is training hard, listening to their coaches and the instructions they are being given, and performing professionally, diligently and with focus, for me they are without blame.

I’ve always found it completely ridiculous when fans launch personal attacks on players who are giving their absolute best.

Sanchez, for example; he’s played like an amateur, but I wouldn’t blame him for that - don’t attack the guy, because he’s worked his balls off.

He is like saf in the way that he doesn't slate the team, always speaks well of them to the press.

Let's hope he is giving pogba etc a strong backhand behind the scenes.
