Called into a meeting at 12 o'clock to be told that we had an hour to gather our belongings.
20 years I the place and thrown out with the garbage.
We had an idea that things were tight. Turns out we owed HRMC a lot of money and if the directors hadn't pulled the plug then HMRC would.
Ah well sh!t happens.

OP, trust me you have no idea how harsh HMRC treats every company in the land in chasing even for a small oversight or mistake which could be a mere £20?!
And yet against the US giants like Google orFacebook or even Deloitte the financial company that sets HMRC policies and then makes a business of telling its own clients of how to break those rules they are treated very leniently by Her Majesty’s crooks or HMRC
