Pulisic

Anyone else excited to see how Pulisic does this season? Seen a bit of him and his pace and skills could cause a lot of trouble for defences this season...

problem is expecation

in reality if he ends up as good as say pedro that is fantastic but people wont give him time .constantly compare him to hazard and end up calling him a flop.

i predict alot of people on ere will want him sold by jan and will end up on loan next season

I don't understand why anyone would compare him to Hazard.

Hazard is unique and quite simply irreplaceable with anyone in the current market.

I'm sure he'll be fine and create his own identity within the squad.

because lazy journos will do it and the fans will lap it up like the mindless sheep they can be especially on social media
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Those fans aren't what I consider real fans though, more the ones that post their fantasy world on Twitter and play football manager.

The true fans will look on him for who he is and not what they think he should be!

Should have signed Mbappe when we had him on trial in 2012
Apparently he couldn't defend

Why? Vitesse had some great attackers atm

hmm at the lane dortmund played a lot of pretty passages but spurs killed them on the counter if I remember. the two games were closer than the first 3-0 if I remember.

This season they failed to score against us home and away. They just seemed to lack that cutting edge, which is what you'd expect someone like Pulisic to give. Sancho and Reus (2nd leg) were much greater dangers.

I remember Pulisic rinsing Aurier in the 1st leg which led to a booking. Apart from that I can't remember anything of note.

That Dortmund side looked pretty average to me, they had Gotze as their main front man in the 1st leg. Their defence was full of youngsters too. Even Sancho was a disappointment in the 1st leg.

I do think Pulisic has a lot of potential, but I agree with many of the comments suggesting that he needs to improve his end product.

One thing I would add though - living in the US, it is already apparent that he has real strength of character. You wouldn't necessarily know it living in England, but he has massive pressure on him already as being the great hope for the US national team. Two years ago (when Pulisic was just a teenager) one of my colleagues who doesn't even follow the game came to ask me about this kid he had read about in some sports section that suggested Pulisic was already "one of the best players in the world". There is enormous pressure on him here - but you can see in his eyes that he has steely determination.

In England we tend to admire the lovable loser personality (with the exception of our cricket team) - but in the US they breed an absolute desire to win. That won't make him the best player in the world, of course, but it is a very good start. I am quite sure that he will cope with all the pressure put on him, and will spend every ounce of energy trying to succeed. And that is half the battle.

People expecting us to fill the Hazard-sized hole in our team with another one surely do not understand that his departure enables us to seek an entirely new dynamic, and I see the management set up which we now have being intent on doing just that.

...and I'm looking forward to seeing Pulisic become part of that, along with RLC, CHO, Mount, James, etc.
