Who will be cut

We are only allowed 17 non-homegrown players in the PL squad, but we currently have 18. Those (over 21 year old) players include:

Keepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero

Defenders: Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Emerson Palmieri, Davide Zappacosta, Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger.

Midfielders: Tiemoue Bakayoko, Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic.

Forwards: Michy Batshuayi, Olivier Giroud, Kenedy, Pedro, Willian.

It could be Zappacost, except that Reece James being injured probably saves him for now.
It could be Kenedy, although perhaps CHO's injury could give him some extra time.
But let's face it - it's going to be Bakayoko, isn't it.

But seriously and if it were down to me I'd let the following go:

Bakayoko
Zappacosta
Kenedy
One of either Alonso or Emerson

And I wouldn't have bought Kovacic in at all.

Yeah, Brummie, I tend to agree with you. It suggests that our squad is not so strong. However, as it stands, Zappacosta is probably needed as cover for Azpi until Reece James is fit.
And I suspect that Kenedy has the potential to produce something - based on a few performances in his first season at Newcastle. Lampard had some reasonably nice things to say about him showing the right attitude. (I'd actually be interested to hear some Newcastle fans opinions on him, who have probably seen him more than i have).
But as for Bakayoko - I can't see what he offers. He is a big guy, and could provide some physical strength and size in the middle of midfield - but he doesn't seem able to control the ball right now. Bizarre.

I'd have no problem with Zappacosta going forthwith. Even if there were a problem with Dave before James returned there's always Sterling (although I've heard he's going on loan the QPR) or Tariq Lampty for a major crisis.

Kenedy, I really don't see what he brings and I don't think he was even making the Newcastle starting lineup in the latter part of the season. I personally don't see him as having a long term future at the club with Willian, Pedro, Pulisic and CHO in front of him!

Well, CHO isn't fit yet, so (and I'm just playing devil's advocate here) Lampard may feel that he needs Kenedy as cover. Especially as Willian and Pedro are both getting on and Pulisic is new.
Yes, Kenedy's experience at Newcastle is a weird one - he looked a world-beater for a while, and then suddenly everything went pear-shaped and he wasn't even getting onto the bench. I'm not sure what happened - perhaps I'll post a question on the Newcastle board.

Kenedy & Bakayoko will both be offloaded I suspect, no space for them in CL squad (different rules to PL).
Pulisic will take up a spot in CL (A) squad.

If not Kenedy, then Zouma or Bats.
One of them will have to go anyway.

Probably Bakayoko. Smells like an Inter two year loan on deadline day. He was Conte's guy, Baka liked Italy, seems to work for all parties. Unless manager and/or club intend to spite the other by not doing it, which given the juvenile nature of both is certainly possible

Zappa will go in January. Don't think it's a cocindence he was all but gone to Roma right up to the point the club sold Aina. Surplus but required to cover at RB till James is fit.

Elsewhere Kenedy might be safe to add depth to the wings in CHO's absence, most likely sold in January. Bats could go in January depending how well Abraham adjusts.

You neglected the secret troll option in the article BTW. Sending Pulsic out on loan

Such an us thing to do.
