At sixes and sevens

After a mere 21 minutes of the curtain raiser for the new season 4 pre season games Manchester City are all over this hungover Liverpool side. Liverpool have failed to sign a first team player after the success of winning the champions league and many will see this as a dropping of the ball, and an inability to press down with their momentum. Unsurprising in some respects after such a huge out lay in transfers the previous 3 windows and with FSG looking to recoup their investment in full and then some to didn't their main baseball venture.

So far in this game they have looked sloppy and disjointed. Liverpool just cannot get close to city and when they get the ball are just unable to retain it for any period of time.

With no new signings to freshen up a settled squad, have the 'mighty' reds gone stale and lost their desire after winning a major trophy? Or have they come to terms that even after a superhuman effort they just aren't good enough to be on top over the mighty citizens!

I know, I'd of expected you do be a hell of a lot sharper. Look slow, sloppy and substandard. Second best all game. City only had four pre season games and look light years ahead. You can't start slow to a league campaign with this city side. Title could be lost by September

Any team buying decent players with a billion net spend over ten years will be hard to rock.
No one can compete really not even Man U throwing money at everything.
No other team could handle key players missing like city can. Best team to ever win the prem, as the records show.
Gulf is huge between them and everyone else.

We'll see what Everton can do when they play City.

Can their new signings surprise City or will it be the usual cricket score?

Hopefully Everton and some of the other crap sides can get some points off City this season.
