Australia will dominate this series. Yes, they have 2 bowlers with outstanding test match record but are on verge of retirements, backup bowlers are on learning curve and batting lacks experience and class. Persistence with Moeen Ali and turning to ODI specialist indicates large gap in quality between their test and odi sides respectively.
Hats off to Smith. Captaincy taken away from and been banned from cricket for 1 year, he is in bradmanesque form and has done what only likes of Vivian, Lara and Sobers in the past were able to achieve, i.e taking his side to victory after plummeting to 122/8 on Day 1.
Australian cricket will always remain a benchmark for others. Their cricketing culture is awe inspiring.They have resorted to knock your head off tactics in the past but this is WAR which is won only by men

1st test.. ahead in every session upto the last day. Smith's 2nd 140 being the key factor, and Lyon's day 5 spinning wicket.
2nd Test.. ahead, beaten by the weather
3rd Test.. brilliant win, thanks to Stokes
4th Test.. well beaten, Auzzie's dominated
5th test.. Won easily

Tongue was firmly in cheek with my comment in response to the OP.
It was a competitive series and despite some players on both sides being awful or mediocre, there was also some genuine quality with bat (not just from Smith), ball and in the field.
There was lots of closely contested battles in each sessions and some fascinating mini battles along with some embarrassing ones like Broad vs Warner

hardly ground breaking news Pakistan, they have the best batsman in the world and more than enough top drawer bowlers.

I am not bitter, its only banter.
I believe, India is overall across all formats best team in the world. England won the world cup but they required India to play below par and an umpiring error. Additionally, I feel they will not be that effective even in odi's on non-flat tracks.In test format their batting needs to vastly improve to be considered among the top
