I knew you'd point to our other transfers to deflect.

The Iwobi sale was not a mistakeEverton were ripped off. The end.

That was always the point.

Pretty much the same mistake we'll end up making if we succeed in hounding Bellerin out of the club.

A momentary sense of misplaced triumph from the sale, followed by the realization that the shiiit recruiters at Arsenal wouldn't be able to come anywhere close to a proper replacement. Even with twice the amount made.

"Everton have just robbed us lads. The £35-40m figure being quoted is fecking peanuts in 2019. His price just went up by at least £20m over the past few hours."

That's what you said when we sold him. Don't pretend other issues were your main point.

Dude, no player is hounded out of Arsenal.

The club and manager decide either to keep them, or cash in, or the player signs a new contract or decides to move on.

If Arsenal fans had the sort of powers you’re suggesting we have, we probably wouldn’t be able to field XI players every week.

Selling Bellerin won’t be a mistake tbh

Always been a fan and think he gets a raw deal from most Arsenal fans but it’s pretty clear that he’s not the same player since than injury in 2019. Should sell him when we can still get £30M+

The amount was peanuts.

A 23-year old homegrown player on a long contract with an average of about 30 games a season over half a decade should have brought in at least £50m pre-Covid. And I suspect you'd struggle to bring in a similar player for less than that post Covid.

The Kroenke years have turned us into mugs when it comes to selling our players.

So how did Everton rob us exactly? You still think he's worth 20m more than what we sold him for?

Mate, I could make 30 appearances a season and I count as homegrown. If arsenal sold me for 10m for example that would be a good sale. Cos I'm fking shiiiiiit mate.

No chance Everton would get their money back if they sold Iwobi this summer, and wouldn't even without the effects Covid has had on the market.

They got a 23-year old homegrown player with over half a decade of regular PL experience under his belt for only £35m despite a superheated transfer market.

We would have struggled to land a similar player for £50m if we'd gone out into the market on the next day.

How many times are you going to make me repeat this?

The reason we got so much money for him was because he was 23 years old and home grown. If he was any good we would have got more than double what we got for him. See Sancho for example who has genuine quality and is being touted as a £100m player
