Media Watch: City's transfer window reviewed

Preseason is over, the transfer window has closed and the return of Premier League football is upon us.

In the media, therefore, it’s a time for analysis and predictions and a host of pundits and journalists have been running the rule over City’s summer business and our prospects ahead of the new campaign.
And, there are plenty of positive reviews…
Opinion
BBC: Pundits pick champions
Micah Richards: “As well as City's strength in depth, they have got a great manager who pushes every player to the limit.
“After winning the title you can sometimes rest on your laurels a little bit, because you think about how good the rest of your players are, but there is no room for that with Pep.
“If you do, there is not going to be a place for you."

Joleon Lescott: “I've watched a few pre-season games and City have looked exactly the same as they did last season, even while playing without a recognised striker.
“They have got a settled squad and it just seems like the longer they spend under Pep, the stronger they get."
Manchester Evening News: City summer transfer window review

Simon Bajkowski: “There is no reason why Manchester City should not be considered favourites to defend their Premier League crown following the close of the summer transfer window.
“Pep Guardiola's formidable side were branded the team to beat before any signings were made, and they have not addressed all of the issues in their squad this summer, but there has been sufficient strengthening to further cement the club's position at the top of the English game.
“Early signs from club record signing Rodri have been promising in the holding midfield role, Joao Cancelo should bring some needed competition to the right-back position and Angelino offers another option on the opposite flank."
Daily Mail: City transfer analysis
Kate McGreavy: “How do you improve a squad that has won back-to-back Premier League titles? Guardiola has managed to do that this summer by bringing in players to add to his already-strong group.
“Rodri will prove to be an important addition and City now have plenty of cover at full back."
