Bamford v Mitrovich

Mitrovich just now on the floor by the corner flag. Huddersfield players legs is over the top of him - zero contact is made but Mitrovich holds is face as though he has been kicked. Attempted to deceive the referee and linesman. No action was taken on the pitch versus the incident where Bamford did get the Villa player sent off.

Not sure if this matters and will be interesting to see whether he gets a 2 match suspension.......

Players should get 6 week ban for cheating, would soon cut it out.

Good post. Watched the game last night and thought the same myself. If the EFL doesn't act then there should be an official complaint. They will probably cite that no other player as sent off.......

Part and parcel of the game Sadly..

Agree, lengthy ban would soon stop it

Lengthy ban plus points deduction would eliminate it.

Let's not rule out it could have been windy and the harsh gale may have hurt his sensitive face. The poor petal.

A 2 match ban then 4 if it happens again then 8 16 32 etc with no pay.
Would soon stamp it out.

Jonny will no first certain, but I think the rule is a ban for SUCCESSFUL deception of the referee.

So technically he hasn’t done anything wrong. Can’t blame the FL for not banning him at this moment.

But that rule needs sorting out and the punishment needs to be disproportionately harsh. This isn’t just about fairness. It’s also about the game being saved from nonsense

Good spot. Unfortunately I think you're right. Looks liken the only punishment would be if he was carded at the time.

Like the above said, Bamford was charged with successful deception, Mitrovic was attempted deception, so there is a difference. Should still get a ban imo
