Scotland - Double Header

The whole country will have eyes firmly focused on Hampden this Friday evening in a crucial European Qualifier, a win here would mean absolutely nothing, we are already totally humped.

But let's pretend it matters, it carries some significance. That we actually care.

So in this alternate universe where Scottish people still care about their national side how do we expect to get on? I mean to even be able to carry on the pretence we can do something we need to send Putin's boys home with nothing except the scalps of our fans. On our day, it's something we may just be able to pull off but Friday will not be our day.

Then on Monday, the world's best side step foot on Hampden turf once again with the Belgian's as visitors. Can we do them in? No, we cannot.

So which sorry side should we put out.

The keeper position is up for grabs with 3 less than impressive names to choose from. David Marshall would be my shout.

In defence Robertson starts, O'Donnell the only option really on the right and our centre back options are very limited so i would give the nod to Liam Cooper and Chuck Mulgrew. The Belgians won't sleep well knowing those two beasts will be ready to put the shackles on and the Russians will limit themselves to just the one bottle of Voddy each the night before.

Options in midfield offer some light relief. McGinn and McGregor would be first choice for me for Friday with Ryan Jack saved for Monday, only he can silence KDB.

Fraser and Forrest on the wings, with Christie linking attack and midfield and McBurnie or Naismith leading the line. Every bit as potent as novichok.

6 points from 6 required, 0 from 6 expected.

But will either of these sides be able to cope in the noise, colour and fervour of Hampden Park or will they wilt like a 40yo mans boaby when the pressure is on. I think we all know the answer.

John Brown never got a cap?

Sure he’s had a kick around at Hampden recently?

Dear Tims, you are being ripped by Spurs fans for writing Broonie rather than Brownie.

Fash how does it feel when you completely wrote off our defenders as diddies and haddies and waste of money when they dominated your team completely on Sunday?

Who got sponsors match of the match then just out of interest

Ah man of the match means the area of the pitch that player played in dominated the other sides whole team.

There was me thinking it meant best performance from an individual player.

It sometimes makes me sad that my interest in the national team has dwindled. I used to get really excited about the games, and some of my best football memories are of Scotland games (Paris, Amsterdam, Italy).

Now I didn't even know the game was on Friday. I wouldn't have been 100% certain who we were playing.

Loads of reasons for it, but one of the biggest was the way they ripped the games away from Saturday's. Stopped me going to the games and my interest fell from there.

Good luck to the team and I hope they win, but my interest is minimal now.

Just read there that the last train to Aberdeen from Glasgow on Friday night leaves Queen Street at 9.43.

Scotrail advises football fans to be there in plenty of time ahead of the train leaving.

Cheers lads. We'll take that advice on board.
