Maguire or Soyuncu?

...Which one of them is going to commit a howler on Saturday?

Will it be both?

Or, more positively, will one of them head in from a corner to claim one or more points?

The situation feels primed for one or both of them to make headlines here.

It is one of those games where you can imagine the discussion afterwards to be:
“.... you paid £80m for Maguire
or
“.... you reckon this Soyuncu fellow is as good as Maguire

Depending on which way it goes

Soyuncu is playing with relatively low fear - seems to be thoroughly enjoying getting this level of game time for the first time since he arrived. Let's not forget, he wasn't exactly a cheap purchase either.

Maguire on the other hand, especially after the last week, will be more wary. I've no doubt he'll be panicked knowing Vardy will want to fully exploit his issues with pace. I think we all know where the direction of play will be from City this weekend!

Should be an intriguing match, and hopefully good for the neutral too.

I'm just hoping beyond all hope that City finally go to a Top 6 club and come out with full attacking intent. If we sit back, knowing we are always liable to concede, then we could have some problems.

As I’ve said before, I hope we go after Utd. If we give them too much respect I think they’ll just do us.

However their defence can be fit at and as others have pointed out, Vardy should be able to cause Maguire lots of problems.

On the battle of the gobbers - I reckon it will be neither. I do worry Söyüncü has got one in him though playing as aggressively as he does.

He also has a bigger **** than Maguire, or so other fans tell me.

Sense would tell you as a player to play the ball into Maguire's vacant space if he goes upfield and loses the ball or gives the ball away. Vardy would target that space in an instant. Get this right first time, second time and it would make Maguire think twice, because generally, Vardy doesn't need 2 chances to find the net.

It might be the only way to beat Man Utd or by long range shooting?
If the play is in front of Maguire it suits him. The other possibility is to turn him quickly before he gets his tackle in, otherwise, Maguire wins the battle.

Let's hope our corners are not anywhere near Maguire's nut. Would be pointless.

Would like to see Maddison, Tielemans & Pereira testing De Gea with some long range shots.
Let's go for it.

Is the pressure higher on Maguire, cost Utd a fortune and needs to show his ex teammates he made a good switch.

Soyuncu doesn't really have any extra pressure apart from playing against a very good team.

I wonder if we'll target knicking the ball off Maguire if he goes awol from defence, surely he'll play more reserved, won't he ?

Also, my main concern is if Utd get corners or free kicks into the box. Which one player in our team is going to pick up Maguire?
I'll be honest and say that i think he'll out-muscle any of ours to the ball. Is Jonny Evans man-enough to get stuck in? I'm not convinced where Harry is concerned.
Soyuncu might not have the height/leap to win this aerial battle. N'didi? Time to make a name for yourselves lads.

Arro.

I have to say, Soyuncu has impressed me so far. I had big concerns about him from last season but he's made a very good start to this one. As much as anything, he's showing that he's capable of performing in this league.

That said, it's only a handful of games so far. Let's hope he shows consistency now in what is always a long season.

I went to Huddersfield mate and he was outstanding, one thing we've yet to see from him so far this season is his surging runs forward, he picked the ball up half way in our half and ended up playing it out wide to Chilly on the edge of their box. It was brilliant. I had no doubts about him after that game and this season he's been outstanding.

Not a comparison when Soyyncu has played a couple of seasons in the Prem maybe. Good season so far but to early to judge. all the negativity towards Harry is just sour grapes imo.
I'd be more worried that Harry tells them exactly how to play against us. Do you think hes going to let Vard's space behind him to run into.

I want a win it a good time to play them but don't expect them to be rubbish all season.

It's not sour grapes from me, I didn't rate him as a defender because he's too slow, makes too many mistakes, is often out of position and when he had the ball at the back it took him an eternity to release as he dawdled about.

I went to Burnley where he got sent off after less than five minutes because he was out of position and too slow to recover and also at Huddersfield where Soyuncu was outstanding. I wanted Soyuncu to keep his place and was well annoyed that Maguire came straight back in. So he was still a Leicester player then and I still preferred Soyuncu.

On to this season, against Wolves Soyuncu read the danger when Ricardo ended up on his arris against Wolves and had the pace to get back, he is very comfortable on the ball and is mugging players off. Maguire against Palace showed his inability to read the game, he didn't gamble on Schlupp winning the header, left Ayew in acres of space and didn't have the pace to get back. Soyuncu all day for me.
