Press conference

Greenwood, Tuanzebe and Romero to start.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Daniel James is out for #MUFC against Astana after "he got a knock against Leicester". Pogba, Shaw & Martial also out. Lingard & Dalot back. Sergio Romero will play on Thursday“

OGS asked about Fred: "You are picking my team. Fred did well for 20 minutes v Leicester. He has been patient. He has been working hard. Hopefully tomorrow will kick start his season."

Ole: "It's a chance for some other players to get some minutes. We have a game every three or four days now so we'll see the use of the squad tomorrow." #MUFC #UEL

OGS on Erling Haaland: "Everyone excited by his development." 👀

Solskjær on De Gea's renewal: "Most of the time we get to keep who we want to keep. The longer it went the more I got to speak to David I was confident we would make it. David is delighted I think you could see the focus in his eyes again vs Leicester." #mulive

Seems like he suffered the same dip in form he had under LVG when his future was in doubt. The difference back then is of course LVG dropped him.

Solskjær: "Mason [Greenwood] is one of the best finishers I’ve seen, and I’ve played with quite few decent ones. Just work hard. There are so many years ahead of you. The next game is always the most important one." #mulive

Tuanzebe on being in #mufc's first team: "All part of the process of growing. I remember having glimpses in first team at 19, you just have to keep working hard and things are starting to open up more. Staying here is the right decision." #mulive

Solskjær: "I think all the boys watched the Premier League games, the top games, watch other teams win trophies. I think they will want to get there [Champions League], and we want to get there. The Europa League is a pathway to get there." #mulive

Solskjær on Greenwood: "He’s still very young but he’s maturing and he’s developed so much since I came in. The kid who just wanted to play with his mates in the U18's and now he’s knocking on the door wanting to play more." #mulive

Tuanzebe: "Staying here was the better option. The plan is in place and tomorrow is a stepping stone to reach a goal." #mulive

A regular in the starting 11 🙏🏼

what I do know is, neither Leeds or United are going to win the premier league within 10 years.

Yes or no VC?

I liked Smith. He did a job in midfield, but nothing more. Preferred him up top, but he wasn't very prolific. What he did give you was an incredible work rate and he was very unselfish, often making space for others with his runs. Funnily enough he would probably be more highly regarded if he was playing now, as he loved to press high up the pitch and push the opposition back. He never stopped running. His best performance for us was when we smashed Roma 7-1. He was the catalyst of that performance for me. He ran like a madman all game, shutting the Roma players down and the rest of the United team followed his lead. His energy was infectious and he also scored a well taken goal himself - the game was over after 20 minutes. We came out of the blocks so fast and the Roma players never had chance to recover.

Haland's father has told Norwegian press that he would put any of his own club rivalries aside in the interests of his son’s career. Speaking to TV2, he said: “It would be nice. It is important to distinguish between being a supporter and a job. So I have a very relaxed relationship with that. It’s a little different when it’s serious.”

He added: “Yes, I think most players dream of being in the Premier League at one time or another. It’s the league that gets the most attention around, and it’s very good quality of the teams. There is no doubt the Premier League is attractive to him.”
