Apparently he has deleted his Twitter due to abuse after giving away a penalty last night.
Now I’m not having a go at Liverpool fans but there is some idiot football fans out there.
The guy has been brilliant for a long time, probably the best LB in the world for the last 12 months or so yet gets abused enough to delete his Twitter after one bad game in a match that will ultimately be meaningless.
Not as much will be made of this as it isn’t racial and rightly so but ID verification has to come in for social media imo.

Seeing Utd fans supporting City last season was one of the cringe worthy things I have ever encountered. Why not just not support anyone apart from your own club
Everton fans were buying Spurs and Madrid tops over the last 2 seasons. Now that is even worse

People do need to realise that nobody real is doing these things.
Same as the torrent of abuse to the Man utd players including awful racism.
These are not real people they are trolls.
Twitter is a platform that just doesn't care. I totally agree with the OP point on account IDs.
No social media platform should be allowed to trade without digital certification of users. The person trolling should have zero ability to create random new accounts untraceable back directly to anyone and go for a fun night of abuse at anyone.
