The Bairns

All due respect to MK Dons, they played well and could - or should- have scored, and at least once.

What really impressed me was the production laid on by our youths. Curtis, Ki-Jana, Rhian, Kellegher (no, I can't spell the young man's first name either, but what a player, what maturity for someone so young. He seemed totally and utterly unfazed) they all played well.

No forgetting - impossible to do so - Harvey. Again, a player displaying his maturity, his eye for goal, everything it's all there and he's what, only 16?

Predictions are easy to make, but I couldn't help but think of ManUs 'class of 92'? Could it be that the nucleus of a team, four to five years down the line is already in the wings?

Wishful thinking, I accept, and only one game of football in front of 30K fans, but for me the talent is there.

Jones was good last night and has had a good season in the U23's so far.
TBone Verdict for the future - Maybe

Hoever is a great young player but I felt that was the poorest game I have seen from him but I was not worried. He is composed and can pick a pass. he has speed and likes to get forward
TBone Verdict for the future - Yes

Kelleher - Great season so far in the U23's. Can play with his feet. He is quick out his goal.
TBone Verdict for the future - Yes

Elliot - What a talent. Vision, touch, passion and he is only 15. We need to manage him well to curb his ego.
TBone Verdict - Oh Yessssss

Brewster - Bug season for him. He has smashed it at youth level but needs to be able to play at premiership standard. He needs to eat more scouse pie and fill out a bit.
TBone Verdict for the future - Maybe

Biggest shock was Herbie Kane pretending to be 20. If he was Nigerian you could understand.

Jones - is a good player, don't judge him as a left winger. he is a midfielder. he WILL make it

Hoever: agree with Tbone. the kid was quite poor defensively.
A huge talent but needs to take a look at his concentration elves and what he was doing. Yes speed, Yes composure, yes he can pass. but he needs to defend properly.

Kelleher - Good player, will get us 10mil in the future in a sale. You won't come through when theres an alisson there. He's at least as good as ward, so will probably go on loan next year with Grabara comes back in. deserves to make it.

Elliott - good, can improve. if we get him for a mil or whatever on the tribunal its criminal. I shall not get too exited til he signs a proper contract at 17.

Brewster - he tried too hard last night. bit of composure needed. we will see. its down to him in the end.

Hopefully when we face pool both teams play the kids. Could be a cracker.

That is rather hilarious I must admit

Its an autocorrect of concentration levels but i think a player having his concentration elves being questions has its own certain je ne sais quoi

Your young un's are probably better than ours. These kids won't be seen until the next round while you will play yours in Europa league while some are already playing PL football.

Klopp will probably play a more experienced side anyway at home which will include Adrian, Origi and Shaq.

I just looked at fixtures

sheff utd
salzburg
Leicester
no mid week
Man utd
genk
Spurs
arsenal league cup (seniors rest day)
Villa
genk
Man city
no midweek
Palace
napoli
brighton
everton
Bournemouth
salzburg
watford
world club championship semi
World club whatever game
Leicester (boxing day)
wolves
sheff utd

In short:

there are two midweeks off from now until january when Fa cup rolls about

I for one think that as such giving the senior players as much of a break before it goes absolutely crazy is important and we will just have to do that.

shaqiri, Origi, lallana, ox, keita, gomez etc will all play. elliot and jone did themsevles no harm in sticking their hands up to help out.

Not sure brewster did enough.
