Why? is the collective pronoun for a group of people. I would have used 'they 'for any group of any colour. The people in point were the people killed and killing by knives in London.
Out of the 230 or so killed since the beginning of last year nearly all were black.

Now we can concentrate our efforts of helping white people in the sink estates, but it seems it will be more efficacious if we work with the black community.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Listen, you were taking about black people.

If you can’t admit that then there nothing else to discuss.

I’m not offended. I’m not trying to make a drama out of it.

But the language you use speaks volumes for society.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Winston.

i am not sure who or what you are, as we now use race and gender and heritage to desribe ourselves, but should white people be silent on black knife crime.

Have you used they to describe other fans or political posters or leavers or remainers or other ethnic groups or nationalities?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Should white people be silent on black knife crime’

Disgusting comment.

You need to sort yourself out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Calm down!

I have seen white community workers and po!iticians being told they should not comment or do not understand black culture, relating to the london knife
crime.

You cannot have it both ways?

Should white people say "we" when discussing black culture and black issues, as that is labe!led cultural appropriation, surely?

Should stormzy now pay for working class white kids to enter Cambridge, or perhaps, "they" are not as equal as others on the social ladder for virtue signalling?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh won’t somebody PLEASE think of the white people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'the white people,

How is the word 'they' racist but 'the' not ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who said the word ‘they’ is racist?

Not me.

It’s clear that comprehension of this subject is beyond you, and your prejudice is so deep rooted you don’t even realise it’s there.

If a black politician used the term Black on Black knife crime sympathetically , i am pretty confident nobody would have an issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The problem here is the language people on here use is just proof of prejudice - they don’t even realise they’re doing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The word they isnt a racist slur .

Greatteams in commenting about Winston shocker
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll absolutely call you out on something thst you preach to others about. Nobody had said anything personal to you yet you feel the need to call someone a priiickk. The exact thing you cry about when people get personal with you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing personal?

This subject is very personal and I make no apology for calling an ignorant priick what he is.

But thanks as ever for your continued interest in me, helpfully proving my point about you, as ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh Yeah, forgot about all the racist abuse you've suffered. Admin should close this thread now because you and Sizzle, a known racist on the same thread means it's going one way.

You hypocritical priiick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your obsession with me makes me chuckle.

Winston ruined my life.

Haha, good to see your racism is always a post away, #whitepeople"

I would like to see all people treated equally, white and black.....or people as we used to call each other.

All people except women, Muslims and the LGBT community.

Isn’t it time for Church?

Agreed.

In Glasgow, knife crime was mental, but was not called white on white as everyone was white and it would have been a silly way to describe it.

In cities such as London and New York or Chicago, we do have different racial and national and cultural groups, so that is why we see people identified in such a way.

It is not racist, but a fact.
