Charlton Athletic 3 - 0 Derby County

Charlton Athletic v Derby County
The Valley
1500
19 October 2019

After a traumatic week in which we were holding our breath and praying for a fair and positive outcome, the news finally came. Yes, George Evans is back in training, still needs game time with the u23s but it's looking good .

Did you know that the last time Charlton's manager Lee Bowyer and Phill Cocu met on a pitch was in 2000 during a Dirties v Barcelona Euro game. Amazing but true.

Good news about Bielek who scared us with his thigh but is now ok to play and along with Bogle (ankle) makes for a pleasingly settled side. Josefzoon, as voted the most skilful player in the squad by his colleagues is expected to feature.

Jack Marriot is a no no as is Tom Huddlestone. It appears that Keogh and Ikechi Anya will not appear.

Lee Bowyer will not appear on the touchline because he was rude to a ref and will send his mum instead.

I think everything has been said now about our two d!ckheads. Justice, in the form of The Judiciary has been served and though it's left people angry, let's move forward and look to,playing good football. Oh, and ffs get young Tom some help.

Team news will appear by magic:-

Roos
Shinnie
Bielik
Paterson
Waghorn
Lawrence
Clarke
Martin
Davies ©
Bogle
Malone

Subs: Hamer, Wisdom, Dowell, Jozefzoon, Bennett, Holmes, Lowe.

Just watched the "highlights". Davies was too slow for the first goal allowing the cross. Keogh would probably have blocked that. The back post header at the corner should have been challenged. Don't think you could blame Roos for that one. The final goal, two defensive midfielders and no one closed down the Charlton player allowing a free shot. The problems in defence look terminal and we can't do anything about them until January. Then again I don't trust our recruitment staff to sign anyone decent anyway.

Just got up enough courage to watch the highlights myself.

Good job it wasn't still 1-0 when the 'one of our own' was clean through on goal at the end. The way he controlled the ball you'd have thought he was playing on a makeshift pasture in Parwich that the cows had been grazing the day before.

* I'd left by the time this chance came about.

Radio Derby blamed Roos for the 2nd goal, but I didn't think it was his fault when I watched the lowlights. I'm with Spart, Davies was at fault as he has been for several goals recently. Unfortunately with his age and missing so many games with his injury he is not good enough now. Nice chap, good captain, maybe we should name him Mike Brearley.

Well, we are stuck with the players we have for now. Cocu did not want to play Curtis Davies earlier on but now there isn't much option. Clarke has been very disappointing. He was player of the year for Pompey last season and Brighton shelled out 5 million for him. I feel he can't be as poor as he currently seems. We do seem to have the knack of making players look much poorer than they were at their previous clubs (see also Bielik, Josefzoon, Dowell, et al.)

Not to mention Butterball and Johnson.

Make you wonder what goes on in training, they go on the field less fit than most oppositions and too many get injured in training. A good run round Allestree Park would do them good. We should try to get the Japan rugby trainer PDQ, he got them fit.

Just read Scouse's slanderous attack on the hallowed Parwich turf. How dare he put our devastating defeats of Biggin down to mole hills.

Even though the molehills scored a few worldies against them.
