Oh right, so let`s see who played football at school and who played rugby. I would bet 90 per cent played footie, and only about 10 per cent played rugby.

I went to public school (not one of the original seven, mind you) and I played more rugby through school than I did football. I was better at it.

Maybe this is why I disagree with basically everything Sandy has ever written.

Rugby is for thugs with no talent for a round ball, which is why their ball looks like an egg. One of their rules is ....

X. If any player shall run with the ball towards his adversaries' goal, any player on the opposite side shall be at liberty to charge, hold, trip or hack him, or to wrest the ball from him, but no player shall be held and hacked at the same time.

Actually, you do remember how Association football was played by teams of underfed working class fellows who beat the thugs by means of teamwork. Which led to the public schools forming their own Rugby rules, like the one above!
