On Saturday Nuno Espirito Santo takes his Wolves squad down to the south coast to face Bournemouth.

This fixture last season resulted in a 1-1 draw, both goals coming from penalties, Bournemouth’s in the 14th minute scored by Josh King, and Wolves’ leveller coming in the 83rd minute, scored by Raul Jimenez.
Referee Roger East, evidently not a fan of free flowing football, issued 9 yellow cards (the first after 49 seconds) and awarded 3 penalties in that game (Josh King missed his second one, awarded in the 85th minute)

Following their 2-1 defeat at St James Park, Bournemouth currently sit 9th in the table with 16 points.
Wolves, unbeaten in 7 games in the league are 8th in the table also with 16 points, their last game being a home win against midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Bournemouth’s home record is good with 9 of their 16 points coming from games at Dean Court. Wolves’ away record is also good with 7 of their 16 points earned on the road.

It has been suggested that Wolves’ league results are suffering this season as a result of having a small squad and having to cope with mid-week Europa League games. As they are currently 3 places higher in the table with one point more than at the same point last season, it would appear that there is no substance to these claims.

Both clubs have a sizable number of players away on international duty prior to this game. Wolves have a total of 11 players involved, 1 with Mexico, 4 with Portugal, 1 with Belgium, 1 with Morocco and 1 with the Republic of Ireland. In addition, 1 is with Italy U21s and 2 with Portugal U21s.
Bournemouth have 12 players involved, 1 with England, 2 with Wales, 1 with Scotland, 1 with the Republic of Ireland, 1 with Norway, 1 with Columbia and 1 with Holland. In addition, 3 are with England U21s and 1 with the Republic of Ireland U21s.

Bournemouth midfielder Philp Billing, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves and Wolves striker Raul Jimenez are all currently on 4 yellow cards, something for them all to be aware of as the cut-off is still 8 games away.

Since the start of the season Bournemouth have played 14 games in all competitions. They have won 5, lost 5 and drawn 4.
Wolves have played 29 competitive matches, won 16, lost 5 and drawn 8.

Gem’s prediction 1-2

If Traore isn't fit to start, I think we should go back to a 3-5-2 formation, as Gem has stated above. I'd be happy with that line-up.

Agree, it should only be 3-4-3 with Traore given our current options i think.

The maatch thread will say whatever the BBC say but for feck's sake take the trouble to read what you cut and paste and delete the totally irrelevant bits.

I’d be happy with that 352 but I suspect Nuno won’t change the shape of the team and would probably bring in Neto if Traore doesn’t make it

Won't be worried if that is what Nuno does but Neto will certainly have to improve on most of his recent performances.

Whatever the set up i just hope we continue doing what we have done in recent games and actually take the game to the opposition rather than sitting back like earlier in the season.

I think we need to stay 343 for that. The 352 relies solely on the counter attack most of the time, as we isolate the front two.

Agree with Tam. One of the main reasons we changed the formation was to give us more attacking options when we got possession back.

One thing that I'd like to see is us changing formation a bit during the matches, give teams something to deal with that's different and make us less predictable.

One criticism of Nuno is that he finds a way of playing and sticks rigidly to it until the opposition work it out, then he changes it but sticks to it for too long again.
