Levy - the devil incarnate?

Why is every negative thing that happens to the club accredited to Levy and none of the good stuff?

Under Levys guidance and leadership Tottenham have grown as a club, reached a CL final, built a state of the art stadium, invested in a top notch training academy, have repeatedly reached the top 4 in the league with different managers, stabilised financially and won a league cup.
It doesnt matter how you think of it or what the reality in your head is, those are the facts.

Yesterday he sacked a manager based on the decision of the board as a collective, not just him, we dont know his own opinion or whether he argued to keep Poch, however he has taken some bitter vitriol for this decision which may not have been his.

Poor league form is put down to Levy not investing in the squad despite opening his wallet this summer and Poch choosing not to fully utilise the investment on the pitch. There have also been times when [according to Poch] money has been made available and he chose not to invest.

I am not saying Levy is above criticism as he clearly isnt, or that Poch was a bad manager, im gutted he has gone, im just bringing some balance. Some of the comments on here about Levy in the last 24 hours have been absolutely shocking and peurile. Levy has been vilified as some kind of pantomime satan and Poch the innocent bystander but in reality there are no devils or angels, just people trying to do the best they can with what they have.

Jose? could be boring, could be winning, could all end in tears - either way, Buckle your seatbelts its going to be a bumpy ride

Oh forget to say, best Chairman, Sydney Wale aside in my lifetime.

Levy, the ultimate specialist in failure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is he though Sizz?

Objectively how do you quantify that?

Maybe he wasnt strong enough with the board - in either sacking Poch or taking on Jose? - but we dont know this

being objective, where do you think he failed here?

You know he doesn't answer questions

Because Levy is the only common denominator with our one pot in 20 years.

...So, Objectively has got rid of a potless manager and brought in one that is reknowned for winning trophies.

...I am assuming that you are happy about this?

OP
O agree with a lot of what you say.

Levy(or the board) has done wonders for Spurs but he made a huge mistake in not backing Poch in the market.

Because of that Spurs have to reset and start again, the momentum is lost and who knows what the future holds.

Nobody's perfect and that's where Levy falls badly flat on his face IMO.

Levy bashing is popular, but in the light of day this was obvious.

1. Biggest fan / media / pundit moan was lack of
trophies.
All the fans getting on the "poch hard done by"
wagon will soon forget all of this if we start actually
winning things.

2. Results were horrendous. Can only paper over this
with poch sentiment for so long. If the PL was done
yearly ( Jan - Dec ) we WOULD be relegated in
2019. I can remember the last time this happened in
the 70's and trust me you younger fans don't want to
go there again.

3. Poch lost the dressing room. When you see things
like Kane breaking International goal records for
fun, then incapable of hitting a barn door for his
club.
Eriksen scoring 2 for Denmark recently. Toby / Verts
playing perfectly well for Belgium, and even Harry
Winks playing well and scoring for England, but pant
for Spurs, you know the players are not playing for
Poch.

Moan all you like, but this is how footie at the top end works. Simply too much money, too much pressure for success.
