The games are coming think and fast. I can hardly keep up.
After missing the last game I’m hoping for another good result. I was quite relieved with the Everton win as I lent my tickets out to a mate who was taking his son to his first ever game. It’s always more pleasing when you start this journey of support with a win and I almost felt a sense of responsibility - however misplaced. It might be an overhang from the last time I gave someone a ticket and we lost 6-1 at home to Spurs. Errghh!!
It’s Watford next. This is a team I thought would be battling us for 7th position at the start of the season. It’s bizarre how quickly it’s started to unravel for them. They look doomed, although we know more than anyone you’re not down until you’re down.
I was actually thinking about our most memorable game against Watford. It’s got to be the Knockaert penalty and the Deeney goal hasn’t it? Some people still have that game down as their worst LCFC moment, but somehow I’ve never seen it that way- even at the time. I felt we were extremely lucky to be in the playoffs that season and the game felt like a bit of a bonus. Ultimately they lost in the final, we ran away with the Championship the following season and have since won the Premier League. I can now watch that game and appreciate it for the theatre of the moment and the realisation it was just a brief knock on our upward journey.
I didn’t really expect any talking points in terms of team selection for this game, but then someone threw a Iheanacho shaped curve ball into the mix. It’s great that we’re now developing options from the bench and those options are being provided largely by players we were starting to write off. As I say I wasn’t at the game so I’ll let others suggest what part he should play against Watford. Wouldn’t it be great if we’ve finally found a capable back up to Sir Jamie Vardy? Rome wasn’t built with one brief cameo, but it’s a start .....
Leicester v Watford another pre-match

Rumoured that there will be some changes,

I’ll be controversial.
Think we should go 4-4-2 with Nacho starting and Perez dropped for diving too much.
Ahhhh, who am I kidding. 4-1-4-1 and as we were except for Praet or Gray for Perez to keep it fresh.
Nacho to come on and score the winner.

Another positive for the book of positives, we had a plan B that actually worked, not just a personnel change but a tactical change that we can utilise.
Play it again Brendan and bump up that goal.difference

I can’t see many getting more than a 6.5 in that formation.

Might go Praet for Tielemans or Maddison, plus give Gray a start if he’s well. Not sure I’d make any others though.

Outrageous comment - a minimum of 6.75 expected for sure!

Another fixture another winnable game on paper, I think this will be tighter than some expect but we will win.
Praet to come in for Tilemans would not be a bad idea, get him some game time and freshen the team up a bit.
