Patrick Vieira

I have a sneaky feeling the board are quietly looking at him as the one to bring in. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was chosen.

He certainly meets some requirements:
- understands the club culture
- knows the league
- respected by fans & players
- young
- has some experience in management
- was a top player in his time
- will work under small budget
- wouldn't demand high salary

I'm not saying he is my 1st choice but i wouldnt be at all surprised if he was our next manager.

We should probably go for a top level manager this time

You mean like utd did the last couple pf times?

Or like Man City and Liverpool did...

Man United have also gone for a novice manager and that's working out equally poorly. We should probably just avoid United when looking for inspiration

he has Nice down in 13th

Which is more or less where they ought to be budget-wise. Most of the division's very tight though. Win tonight and they move up 5 or 6 places.

They started very poorly under him last season, but managed to claw themselves back and finished higher than they had the year before.

Same story at NYC. Finished higher up the table each consecutive season.

I definitely don't want Vieira as manager, picking managers because they were great players for their club is stupid - and he simply doesn't have the track record to even be a consideration to manage Arsenal

Full time : St Etienne 4-1 Nice

Only 2 wins and 2 draws in 11 games across all competitions for Vieira's men. Including a Cup loss away to the second bottom team in Ligue 2.

The board clearly don't have money for a high profile manager. Vieira is legend and one of the more affordable managers on the market, but God he is awful, nowhere near Arsenal level.

We appear to have loads of money though. Investment has been huge in the last few seasons, dwarfing most other clubs.

(I fell for the no money to spend line back in May btw)

If the poor form continues then we will be looking to Neil Warnock
