United returned to winning ways to keep our 11 game undefeated run going, with 10 wins and a draw a fantastic return as we march towards the title.

It was a small measure of revenge for United, as the winning run started after our previous visit to Dumfries where we were smashed 4-0 by the home side.

We did have to deal with a midfield crisis ahead of the game, with Harkes out with a fractured cheekbone sustained against Dundee. The handsome American will hopefully be back in a few weeks, but he joined Sam Stanton on the sidelines. This opened the door for Declan Glass to come into the team after returning from a successful loan spell at Cove and by all accounts (well, the account of my mate who was there) he played very well and was unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.

The goal instead came from the returning Mark Connolly. The Irishman replaced Reynolds in the starting lineup and Neilson said this was because of the dreadful surface at Palmerston, with Reynolds toiling on it last time out. It was interesting hearing Neilson before the game talking about the problems they had preparing for the surface. Before the last game they used the artificial surface at the new facility on the Kingsway but apparently it was too good a surface to prepare on! Gussie was utilised this time and obviously to good effect.

My mates MOTM was Jamie Robson by the way.

So where does this leave us? Well it maintains a very significant lead and realistically we're probably looking at requiring another 7 wins to secure the title. It won't necessarily mathematically win the title but getting over 70 points will likely be an unassailable lead.

Inverness will hope to capitalise on any slip-ups and ended any hope Dundee had of catching us (they now sit 20 points behind us) but I can't see them putting together the kind of run required.

It's hard not to get carried away but hopefully the players keep their minds on the prize and keep winning these games.

United are only 14 points clear at the top. We just need a better PR team for the league to make it seem like there is still a title race. Liverpool are 16 points clear (they win their game in hand) and it is still a really exciting 3 way title race with City breathing down their neck as well as Leicester, and maybe even Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs if they continue their good form. Could this even be Wolves' or Sheff Utd's year?

Anyway. Shiiite.

I thought Dundee's result on Saturday was wholly predictable.

We are predictably unpredictable.

You need to sort that defence out mate. The rest of the team isn't bad but the defence isn't good enough.
