English cup draws...conspiracy afoot ?

Never gave conspiracy theorists much thought until recently, but starting to think they have a point.

Just watches the women's FA Cup draw and, whilst not that interested in the women's game, Man City have, once again, been handed a free pass in a English cup draw.

Home draw - tick
Drawing easy opposition - tick ( Ipswich, the lowest ranked team left in )

When you consider the draws they have been handed over the last couple of years, there has GOT to be something off here. Luck only goes so far, so what is going on ?

Not sure I subscribe to the "heated balls" theory, but there must be something going on.

Oh and btw, the other two top women's teams, and the ones the FA ( and TV ) no doubt want to see in the final, both got home draws against lower opposition too.

I will be happy to withdraw my opinion after the actual FA Cup draw later, but don't think I will need to.

Grow up ffs.

I wasn't being patronising, I was being honest.

You're just another person who uses forums to present their entrenched view and cannot debate a subject without becoming personal.

It's pathetic.

You've got issues

I was only being honest when I said I find you ridiculous. If you don't like that, tough sheit, as you say.

So the only ‘logic’ behind the idea that the FA Cup draw is subject to corruption is that there’s a lot of money in the game and there has been corruption elsewhere in the game.

Not exactly overwhelming, is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You cannot claim it was not fixed, any more than I can claim it was fixed. Easy to fix any draw. Did anybody actually check the actual balls shapes, size etc live on TV, the answer is no. Just all in a hat, and then thrown in the drum. All the big boys numbers could have had slight dents in the ball that could be felt on touching them. So easy to fix draws, a lot easier than fixing matches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the point Winston is making is that the burden of proof lies on those who claim it’s fixed. He doesn’t have to provide evidence to suggest it’s not.

Well yes, but not just that.

I'm open to conspiracy theories but you need to provide some credible basis for them.

You can't just say it and not expect some ridicule without any good reasoning for it, surely?

Why were Man United and Liverpool always drawing prem teams if they want to manipulate the draw? I get the theory, but I don’t think the actual draws back up the claims. City are the only team that are getting easy draws all the time.

There’s not really a good enough motive nor enough evidence for these things to be anything more than ridiculous. It would be so easy for this racket to be unraveled if it was actually happening.

Maybe the people doing the bribing change every year.

Maybe the FA put it out to the highest bidder.

Could be.

You would think if it was fixed then it the League Cup semi's would have been United v Leicester and City v Villa because this would give the best chance for both United and City to meet in the final, which would be a bigger game and draw more global fans.

Out of the three other teams, United posed arguably the best chance of beating City, local derby and already beaten them in the league so I can't see how that was fixed, unless of course United have slipped that far away that Leicester v City final is a bigger draw globally these days 😂
