Early termination of PL

Looks like it's bound to happen. Fans of various teams might be upset and say "But we could have....etc, etc".
16 PL teams had 9 games left, the other 4 had 10 left. If you took their W/D/L/F/A stats from their last 9 or 10 games and applied them to the league table as it stands the top 5 would be in exactly in the same order. At the bottom the only difference would be that West Ham are relegated and Aston Villa survive. Either way it makes it easier for us neutrals watching the TV and wondering which one of them are playing.

UEFA should do the right thing and cancel all European football for next season, this gets rid of the problem of having no fair way to decide who qualifies for Europe and also reduces the risk associated with playing football around Europe. It also makes it easier for leagues around Europe to follow the Dutch example and void their leagues.

I hope they void the whole season and start from scratch next season.

Then I think you will be disappointed.

It’s basically what’s happening in Holland and unless they find a vaccine or something, it’s hard to imagine 22 men being allowed to run around in a semi-contact sport anytime soon.

Can you imagine if they start up behind closed doors
and someone gets the virus? We’d be back to square 1.

If that happens then yes, we'll be back to square one, which is where we are now so we may as well try it

Anyone else about to filter this guy? This won't happen Billy. They won't cancel the CL in the only season that Spurs have failed to qualify so that all the clubs that have put Spurs out of the CL can mids out. How evil and diabolic. CL will not be cancelled and Leicester will be in it and Spurs won't, whether you like it or not.

They're not voiding in Holland though.

Yeah that's not really voiding as they're using current standings for European places. Or trying to at least. Voiding would render everything to this point in the season meaningless.

Think it’s pretty much voiding, no winners no relegation. The European places were simply something they had to decide upon, and tbf that was the fairest way to do it.

Very classy from Van Der Sar also, suggesting there are things more important than football, too right.

I agree. I dont care really care how the Euro places are sorted out and whetehr this benefits Spurs or not.

I really want to see the season concluded but if it is not then fundamentally it is entirely unjust to relegate teams who have every chance of staying up.

Tough on LFC if this approach was taken but it would be much much tougher on whoever got relegated (except maybe Norwich who were clear at the bottom Theyd feel lucky),

Can't they give the title to Liverpool and still not relegate teams? Why does not relegating teams mean it's tough on Liverpool?

This 22 team league thing might happen I guess.
