Werner

Come on Liverpool fans, I expected articles on the board saying they are delaying signing him because of the virus.

And what about shorter halfs.

In other news Liverpool fans don't seem interested in their own club

Of course we are, but we are more interested in the greater good.
Let's leave it to city, united and spurs fans to obsess constantly over all things Liverpool, PL restart, whatever.
Stay well everyone.

I reckon we might be waiting for his release clause to expire. Then he might be cheaper.

It’s annoying as we lose Mane and Salah to the afcon in the winter so we are likely to struggle without reinforcements offensively- but what can you do. Just got to accept we will have to make sacrifices in the current financial climate.

As I've said before. Does anyone SERIOUSLY think that there will be an ACON this year or next?

Seriously guys covid is going to end tat one right off the bat. The thing hasnt' even hit africa yet or at least they've not tests so they've got to be struggling.

Remains to be seen. Don't compare them all with the England who had more time to prepare than other nations. Most other countries had more time than the even the UK, some of the lockdowns imposed by health ministries are almost draconian and following the South Korea model.

You are right though, the preparedness for this in the third world is almost non existent. Only the preventative measures will keep things sane. If covid penetrates like it has in Italy, UK and US it will be really bad because they just don't have a health infrastructure that would cope in the same way. There are less doctors per person, less hospitals and ill equipped hospitals per area etc.

So you're right but there's no guarantee it will happen IMO.

We still need to be forward thinking and not hope the AFCON is postponed.

yes hope is not a strategy.

however the point is one fan to another not as michael edwards buying players for jurgen klopp.

Do we really think all things being equal that we buy just for that tournament period or that it will actually happen.

I would contend that just as I have contended before that we do not have enough forwards of quality to compete in 2 comps let alone 4 and have relied on lack of injuries this season. there is room for werner in the squad or someone else.

HOWEVER.

all things being equal we need to consider how ready jones and elliott are to play first and then how to move on shaqiri before committing in this climate to a 5 year deal.

Can we get by for the next 12 months to balance the books first and by the end of that time will elliott and jones make buying a player a non starter
