Courage in battle

Tonight we face our toughest away game in decades, bayern haven't conceded in 9 games and are scoring lots of goals, this will be some step up from the anti football played by Everton on Saturday!

Both teams boast impressive squads and talismanic leaders so this should be a humdinger of a champions league tie, bayern will come out and openly attack whereas Napoli played the patient counter attacking game, we will see if our team can defend as doggedly as they did last year, with the pace we have up front I can see Mancini starting with tevez and aguero, not sure why I just think he will.

Is a win impossible?

I want PL teams to lose in the PL when it benefits us but i always want British teams to do well in Europe, why so bitter Dunc? Not still whingeing about the money thing are you? When are you going to get over it?

City will revert to type here, Bobby knows he can't try and play Bayern off the park, however, they are not the team of a few years back so I can see city getting a decent point here. Moreso since they dropped two at home, bbby won't want to have played two and only have one point.

united have shut up shop sometimes then they play away in the CL over the years.......and being gun-ho doesn't work in the CL........especially against a side like Bayern. but if we have the ball, they cannot score, so PLEASE CITY, no lumping it anywhere up the field .they'll just launch attack after attack at us...we need to play the holding, short passing game..

we need to be solid at the back, try not to concede and hopefully nick one with our lightening fast attack...

its a simple game, eh folks.....

Yes indeed we have, it took us a long time to work out that you can play as you like at home in the CL but not away. However, the OP says "with the pace we have up front I can see Mancini starting with tevez and aguero", if you do you will get beat, this isn't like playing Liverpool away, it's much. much tougher than that

dennis, I actually think we might get better results away from home in the CL than at home this season (although I don't think that we'll win tonight). And if Napoli away from home are able to start with a fast, attacking 3 up front, with the hope of exploiting on the break while not weakening their own defensive formation, then City are also.

At home in the CL, against top-class opposition, I remain unconvinced with our defence being able to cope with such counter-attacking tactics (as we'll be much more attack-minded, expansive ourselves and thus susceptible to the counter).
